Introduction

Jesus, who is also identified as Jesus of Nazareth, was a religious leader and a Jewish preacher in the first century. He is the center of Christianity, and most Christians believe that he is a personification of God the Son, and the long-awaited Messiah that was prophesied in the Old Testament. Although modern scholars consent that Jesus existed historically, contemporary history provides little agreement on the historical dependability of Gospels on how the biblical Jesus differs from the historical Jesus. However, the holy book, the Bible, offers numerous and enough evidence of the prophecy of Jesus Christ. Most people, especially from other religions, have a different perception of Jesus Christ. However, some people view Jesus as a Galilean Jew who was baptized by John the Baptist and began his ministry, where he preached orally to his gathered followers using parables. He is known for his teachings his fellow Jews how to righteously follow God's commands, healing the sick, and feeding the hungry. He was later turned into the hands of the Roman government and was crucified due to an order given by Pontius Pilate. After the death of Jesus, Christians believe that he rose from the dead after three days and ascended to heaving, leaving a group of followers who, in due course, became the early church. However, the Bible provides all the answers to who Jesus was and whether he was a man of God, which is Biblical evidence that has existed for more than 2000 years.

In the book of John 1:14, the Bible indicates that Jesus became flesh, and he established his dwelling among humanity. He was born of a virgin, and his mother, Mary conceived him from the Holy Spirit, which means that he was taken from the power of God through an angel. Although Jesus was the son of God, as stated by Mark 1: 11, where Jesus and John the Baptist hears a voice from heaven claiming Jesus to be God's son, who he was pleased with shows that he was the son of God (Good News Bible). The main reason why Jesus left the throne in heaven and became flesh was that he wanted to die a physical death that was a sacrifice to cleanse the sins of the world. However, some people may wonder why Jesus chose to die a painful death from torture and crucifixion instead of retaking his royalty as the son of God. The reason is that he wanted to fit in the shoes of the ordinary human being to sympathize with their weaknesses and show them how to overcome trials and temptations. As seen in Hebrews 4:15, Jesus was tempted similarly to how individuals can be induced.

Various debates have been put forward by scholars and religious academics to understand whether Jesus is God. However, John 1:1-3 shows that Jesus existed from the beginning, and he was with God and was God. The verse proves the inseparable nature of Jesus and the God of the universe (Good News Bible). Other verses, such as Matthew 13:14 and Luke 24:44, where Jesus identifies himself as God, provide further proof that Jesus is God (Good News Bible). However, Jesus is also indicated in the old testament on Isaiah 6:1-10, which is also quoted by John 12:40 (Good News Bible). His resurrection from the dead also proves that he is God, as he appears like he is walking on a cloud when ascending to heaven.

Jesus is also the way to heaven and the only path to salvation. In John 14:6, Jesus states that he is the way, the truth, and the light, and no one goes to the Father except through him (Good News Bible). Ephesians 2:8-9 says that people have been saved by grace, and it is through faith and not by oneself. The verses indicate that Jesus is a gift of God, and it is through him that all humanity has been saved. Acts 4:12 adds weight that Jesus is the way to heaven as it states that " Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved." (Good News Bible) All these pieces of evidence from the Bible indicate that Jesus is God, the light of the world, Son of God, and the only path to heaven, which all that have faith in him meets God the Father.
