There are various challenges affecting families, individuals, groups, and neighborhoods as members of the community. Fortunately, these people are always on the run, chasing for solutions. In their venture for answers, they still think they should start from making the change themselves but do not know how to start the habits. This leaves the practitioner with few options of helping them decide on the point to start from (Chang et al. 2013). In this review, we are, therefore, going to identify goals that are related to each of the problem statements presented from the text.
Examples of The Problem Statements and Their Goals
Notably, these problems are divided into two categories; what the clients want to stop doing and what they want to start doing. We are going to start with what the clients want to start doing, which includes the potential of starting to become assertive during the violation of their rights (Chang et al. 2013). The main goal of this act is to help in boosting the esteem of the client and to earn the respect they deserve from the practitioners or individuals. Secondly, starting to listen to others without interruptions. The goal of being a good listener during communication is useful in the collection of information that leads to critical decision-making. Excellent listening skills also enhance the individual's ability to remember. Finding a job with a salary beyond the minimum wage is another problem that the clients encounter (Chang et al. 2013). The goal of finding that job is to rise above the poverty line that the minimum wage has fixed an individual to fit-in unwillingly but because of financial constraints. Also, some clients need to start expressing anger without the use of abuse. Its goal is to help in the discovery of the client's emotional strengths and weaknesses.
Moreover, problems also occur in the form of a lack of family time, and the client wishes to start finding time to spend with their children. The goal of spending time with family is to strengthen the union and give an assurance that one values the association as well as appreciating their presence apart from the material provisions. Sometimes, clients come with complicated problems like starting to find a job, performing well in school as well as finding family time (Chang et al. 2013). The goal of attaining these wants is to achieve worldwide success from all the fields. The client can work well and provide for the family as well as performing well in school and also spend time with family appropriately. Finally, some clients also experience trust issues with people, including both men and women specifically. The goal of this trust is to feel safe around the people that the client fears. Once the faith is there, safety and freedom of expression are also acquired.
Our next category of statement problems is going to focus on the issues that the clients wish to stop. Firstly, some clients want to stop giving in to the demands of their children. The main goal of this is to decrease the uprise of behaviors that parents do not like. Personal challenges like alcohol addiction, excessive eating, too much spending of money, and smoking are also part of the problems that clients desire to refrain from doing (Chang et al. 2013). The goal of abstaining from these common behaviors is to become a responsible person that cares for their lives and the people they value. Self-respect is also gained when one is responsible.
Moreover, clients also wish to stop the behavior of yelling at people and attacking them verbally. The goal of stopping critics is to influence others positively. People tend to follow the practices of composed of people who prefer commendations rather than critics. Additionally, as some clients strive to stop criticizing others, some also wish to stop criticizing themselves in the bid for survival. The goal of this is to achieve personal acceptance and appreciation of the way someone is created, both physically and emotionally. Finally, some parents need to stop hitting their children when impacting discipline in their children. In the client's quest to change this habit, they have a goal of realizing that punishment does not necessarily need to be corporal for the kids to learn from their mistakes. Communication plays a better role in behavioral change in children.
Finally, in my family, the majority of us do not know how to communicate peacefully without keeping their voices low, give solutions to problems together, and come to an agreement on rules that are appropriate for everyone (Chang et al. 2013). Due to these situations, we have a goal of attaining excellent communication skills, giving a solution as a team, and making rules together as a family.
In conclusion, in one way or another, there are always solutions to problems because, in most cases, clients are still willing to communicate with the practitioner. Those who wish to start making changes always do so because they are dissatisfied with their lifestyles, and the same also applies to the people who want to stop their problems. Also, family issues are always easy to solve because it depends on the unity and peace that co-exist between the family members.
