Many candidates get a chance to associate themselves with the government upon involvement in a political campaign. Running a successful campaign is daunting to many candidates, especially when approaching the final days of the campaign. Many candidates can have stress and pressure for success. However, with the proper organization of any political campaign, the candidate and the entire campaign team can avoid many challenges. Some issues could be noticed during the debate, which led to Trump and Clinton losing cool as a result of their negativity. Some of the arguments presented by Trump and Clinton were not fair, a reason they could find themselves on the defensive side.

Trump insisted on the fleeing of jobs out of the country to other nations such as Mexico. He does not openly state that he was referring to the North American Free Trade Agreement, which he thought would cover the manufacturing sector in the US. There are debates based on the effect of the deal on jobs since there is an efficiency of linkage and trades between the US and Mexico. Clinton puts him on the defensive stating that the service-based sector was the main contributor of the decrease in numbers of the manufacturing industries (CBS News). As a remedy, the US could decrease the services being offered within the country, to reduce the outsourcing of manufacturing jobs. Additionally, adding more factories could solve the challenge of the fleeing of jobs out of the country.

When Trump talks about African Americans' and Hispanics' lifestyles, he mentions a dangerous living condition. He further adds that there were killings of about 4000 people in Chicago since the reign of President Obama (CBS News). According to Trump, this was a supporting statement that the US was plagued by dangerous crime. He also states of the displacement by violence as a result of harboring Hispanics and African Americans. The statement was invalid as it is not the harboring of such people that led to the increase in numbers. As Clinton stated, the people were more likely to have been killed by guns than other demographics. Trump's statement of taking away guns from the people who should not be holding them and terming them as bad people supports the statement. However, the task should have been left to the relevant authorities to deal with the persons who cause gun violence, even if it was the police.

Clinton also stated that Trump supported the invasion of Iraq, but he denied the allegations. Clinton's statement was wrong since even before the war between Iraq and Iran; Trump had made an endorsement of invasion to the media who only asked whether it was his thought to attack Saddam Hussein (CBS News). Trump was even annoyed by Bush for not invading any sooner as Douglas MacArthur did. He also withdrew from Iraq even in the events of the civil war in the nation, terming the condition as a catastrophe.

Conclusion

Trump-Clinton first presidential debate had various negative claims that led to the candidates finding themselves on the defensive side. Statements such as the inefficiency of the North American Free Trade Agreement, African Americans' and Hispanics' lifestyles, and the invasion of Iraq were not well defended by the candidates, but still had a solution to letting them defend for themselves.
