Introduction

I cannot imagine how I will be and how it could feel growing up in a society where culture is no longer one of the values of the community. Child's taste in music, clothes, style of speaking, hobbies, and almost everything else has a connection with the culture a child was raised in. Children biologically pay attention to what is going around them. Presently, it is hard, to hear familiar phrases such as When I was your age ...", the grown-up describes how life, or at least his or her memory and perception of it, used to be. Lack of such good memories is because the culture has faded to a point in which its effect cannot any longer be felt. According to the New York Time, "We have ruined childhood" gives an account of underlying factors that are present in the society that has led to fading of childhood culture. Besides, as per the response of the interviewed that was conducted by the writer of the article, Kim Brooks, it affirmed that claim that culture is fading away rapidly. Thus, I sturdily confirm that there is less communication between parents and children, several homework that keeps students engaged fulltime. Finally, less vacation time has substituted arts and music radically with children to a psychological disorder in children.

Firstly, I back up Brooks regarding the problem with more homework and less vacation time. Established from my on encounter, since I turned 14, my parents and all my teachers were focusing on my performance; they wanted me to score a good grade. Thus I used to spend most of my time at school and less time with family and friends that less my social skills unpolished. Homework is a well-established education culture. The idea of homework, for instance, in the U.S, has become deep-rooted to their culture that the phase homework is part of the common vernacular. The tie I could mingle with others was during break time; at times, I had many assignments at school, which forced me to sacrifice break time to complete them as much as is a simple task of memorizing and practicing that exercise and discipline mind. It has severe consequences. Brooks claims, "Young children are assigned homework even though numerous studies have found it harmful. STEM, standardized testing, and active-shooter drills have largely replaced recess, leisurely lunches, arts, and music." The remarkable memory that I treasure is when I saw young, and I used to spend most of my time playing with other kids. We once built a wooden house; the wooden house was our restaurant. I call it our chop bar- in my culture; chop bar was the name of a restaurant. I was ahead of kitchen section, some of my friends assumed the role of hotel attendees while other customers, customers could order kinds of meals, and then I could monitor the chefs as they prepare food, in empty cans, which we collected in our houses. I used to play until I forget taking meals and when the evening was approaching I could cry because I can imagine how I will miss playing. Such games assisted me in learning some of society expected of me when I will become an adult. Besides, it helped me relieve stress and develop close ties with my friends.

However, the millennium children do not access such opportunities to play with their peers due to change in the change in culture. What was worsening this situation is the rapid advancement of technology. Most children prefer watching movies or playing online games than spending doing outside door games. Parents contribute significantly because they are the ones giving children these devices such as self-phone, a laptop without any consideration the impact such device may have on their children, simply because "everyone else does it" and well, to be honest, it keeps the kids occupied and quiet for the most part. Addiction to technology makes Children hate to take part in outside do activities. Further, such habit of staying indoor full time as serious health complications such as the high risk of becoming obese increased the risk of developing rickets, among others.

Secondly, the majority of schools have substituted music and arts with homework and other time taking activities. Music and arts education helps children develop their math and sequences recognition skills with the aid of music education. Paying music helps children develop language and reasoning, increase their memorizing skills, and elevate co-ordination. For instance, at secondary school, I was a Home Economics student, and I required art to enhance my food to make it appealing at home. From my encounter, playing music as one cooks make cooking fun and quick. During my vacation events like 4 July, I made an observation that almost everyone was playing music, dancing, or singing while grilling, which made the occasion fun and brought people together as well. Therefore, art and music enables communication and allows one to express themselves fully with no critics. Most individuals were not born as engineers, doctors, nurses, or teachers, but some are both with the talent of drawing painting and drawing it would assist if their parents understand their skills and encourage their children to chase their abilities. The majority of the children cannot dare to drop out of school in the name of pursuing what they love doing most. Majority of parents are dictators in nature, and they decide for their kids what path their fall since the view themselves as stable enough to make a rational decision regarding issues of their children

Furthermore, growing up was the most challenging thing in me since I had to be more self- reliant and accountable for my deeds because I went to a boarding school. For instance, I was supposed to wake myself on time for morning preps sessions, do my laundry, making meals for myself, prepare and getting to class on time, and, most important, ensure all my assignments have been done accordingly. In other words, I had to develop skills of time management to survive in such an environment or else to face punishment. This made a tender age and me to become responsible. In my plans of how my day was supposed to run smoothly, besides used to spare some time to hang out with my friends, which enhance my social skills. According to Brooks, "At the same time that more is demanded of parents, childhood free time and self- directed activities have become a taboo." I second, in my early adolescence period, I was permitted by parents to do a lot of things on my own, and I learned to accountable for my actions. Being accountable assisted me in instances where I found myself in a particular condition. I have to find a way out without my parents'parents' assistance. I had much experience starting from household responsibility to real-life issues that made me alert and making me a critical thinker when it comes to matters of making tough decisions. A considerable number of parents do not trust their children to handle complex tasks and make decisions regarding their lives, denying children such opportunities makes them over-dependent on parents, and above all irresponsible individuals

Conclusion

To assist children, parents need to be ready to permit them to explore and create time for their children so that they may have time with them to teach them some few skills and tips of life. Further, parents should ensure that their children get time to socialize with others and restrict excessive usage of technology among their children to that they create time for them to partake in constructive activities. The surrounding can nurture a child. It can nurture a child positively or negatively. To avoid unhealthy interaction with environment parents needs to evaluate their surroundings and come up with measures that will prevent children from obtaining negative aspects from their surroundings as they grow up.
