Introduction
Traditionally, it has been always known that teaching has been given the role of nurturing and developing the potential within the learners. However, in present times the role of teaching has been comprised of complex of various factors which include learning new skills of finding new information, keeping in track the technological innovations, dealing with students of all types as well as dealing with parents and community at large (Pillay, Goddard & Wilss, 2005). These roles among others are said to be so demanding in such a way that they compromise with the well-being of teachers and hence lowers their competence in the classroom. Specifically, it is discovered that teachers are experiencing an increased level of stress, attrition as well as burnout. Therefore it is necessary to explore how the above named physiological factors through answering these research questions
Literature review
According to Cassidy et al (2017), there is existing research which inspects the specialized well- being of the instructors using psychological factors such as class expressive support and the emotional familiarities of children. The professional welfare of the teachers is being theorized to include the moods of teachers in relation to their duty, the independence when it comes to decision making, their actual wages as well as the perceptions of justice within their programme. In this study, there is empirical support about the relationships which exists between teacher's professional welfare, their responsive expressions and the behaviours of their students.
According to colie et al (2015), there are three psychometric characteristics of the Teachers welfare Gauge which evaluates three aspects of welfare in relation to the role of teachers. These three factors included the workload, organizational setup and the student interaction well - being.
For about decade ago, an increase in research motivation of teachers has been observed since it has already been verified to be a very important aspect which is related to multiple variables in the sector of education. These variables are inclusive of student motivation, reforms in education, teaching practices and finally psychological fulfilment of teachers together with they're well - being. In order to address the steady concerns for research on motivating teachers, this study will in detail review motivational studies of teachers which is being conducted in varied perspectives. The five research-related are areas to teacher motivation will be done. They will include instructor motivation and the teaching efficacy, instructor motivation and the learner motivation, the motivation of instructor in various disciplines as well as the instrument of assessing instructor's motivation (Han & Yin, 2016). The argument will be based on current literature in relations to hypothetical perceptions, research methods, contents of research and finally the direction or the future possible research will be proposed.
About forty years ago, there was a certain study which integrated self - efficacy of teachers in relation to physiological wee - being, the quality of classrooms and finally the level of learners in academic adjustments. This study will involve reviewing and analysing 165.0 qualified articles on well - being of teachers in relation to the above-named factors. It is being proposed that poor room qualities may have a negative association with self - efficacy of teachers. It is also being proposed that some other factors which underlying psychological well-being of teachers included the personal accomplishment, satisfaction of job as well as the level of commitment of students. It is being projected that if poor personal accomplishment and low level of job satisfaction might lead to low self - efficacy of teachers.
The gap in the Literature
Recently, roles of instructor or teacher have been seen to be influenced by some psychological factors which in one way or the other have affected their- well-being. In addition to that those psychological factors have different implications on the way teachers are going to deliver in the classroom. This is because the level at which students gets information depends on the state of being of their instructor. If the instructor is experiencing psychological difficulties in career life, then it becomes very hard for them to deliver as per expected. This leads to a gap of information passing which is being termed as ineffective teaching. On the other hand, if the teacher or the instructor wellbeing is in right state, the role of teaching together with other integrated roles of teachers becomes easy and the passing of skills and knowledge to the students becomes and effective. The information within the literature review only suggests those psychological factors but does not show how they affect the well-being of teachers. This aspect will lead to the establishment of the Aim of this research proposal.
The Aim of the Study
Exploring how the identified physiological factors influence the well-being of the teacher and how the implications they have in the classroom.
Research Design/Methodology
The method of which will be used to carry out this activity is the qualitative study or research. This type of research will be used to gain an understanding of the fundamental reasons and opinions on how physiological factors influence the wellbeing of the instructors. It will also provide perceptions to the problem oy the hypothesis (Bengtsson, 2016). In addition to that, it will uncover the trends in opinions and thoughts as well as diving deep in the topic under study. The qualitative data collection method will also vary with the use of semi-structured and unstructured techniques (Merriam & Tisdell, 2015). The method which will be active participation whereby sample size will be classically small and the respondents will be selected to fulfil the given quota (Creswell & Creswell, 2017).
Theoretical Framework
In this study, there are a number of psychological factors which are going to be measured in relation to the well- being of teachers. From the literature review here are some of the variable that is going to be measured. Emotions of teachers, the behaviour of students, the general role of teachers, wages, salaries and finally the quality or set up of the organization. In all the above-named factors, the statistical relationship will be done to make inferences on how they affect well - being of teachers and implications it will have in classroom delivery. The well - being will go to be treated like an independent variable whereas the above-named factors will going to be treated as dependent variables. Through assessing those factors, the statistical relationship will be established and inferences made on how they affect well- being of the teacher.
Sampling
The method which will be used is that of simple random sampling. This is because it is the purest and most clear probability method of designing as a sample (Patten & Newhart, 2017). In addition to that, it serves to be a popular method of coming up with a sample since it creates samples that are of high representative of the population (Orcher, 2016). As a matter of fact, most of the psychological factors indicate in literature review has some degree of similarity. This means that the sample selected randomly will almost give similar results Another aspect to consider is that method this method of simple random sampling is very cheap and it saves on time. Finally, it is being identified as a very effective method when it comes to gathering information from respondents with almost similar opinions.
Data Collection
Data collection will be performed by interviewing the respondents. The rationale for choosing this method is based on effectiveness when it comes to personal touch. In addition to that, there is a high probability of getting first-hand information from the respondents. Furthermore, there is room for more clarification between the respondent and the researcher in case of misunderstanding. It is evident that the information obtained from the direct interview is of much of higher quality when compared to others such as questionnaires.
The more first-hand information a researcher has, the more quality the research and this translates that the research is relevant when it comes to representing the real situation.
Data Analysis
For the data to become meaningful it must be arranged and organized in a systematic way. The first step is going through the whole data and try to standardize it. The aspect of standardizing helps in reducing biasness and assumptions. Data treatment is also being done in relation to other results which has been previously done with the purpose of reducing biasness also. The data then will be organized in order to be able to compute the measures of central tendency. The tendency like mode will be used to interpret the most influential physiological factor when it comes to measuring the well - being of the teacher. Since there are many variables to be computed, there is the likelihood of having complex data which needs a powerful software to do the computations. The proposed software to be used in computing this data includes excel and spices.
Ethical Considerations
In every study, there are those ethical issues which need to be incorporated in a study. Those ethical issues revolve around credibility, dependability, conformability and finally transferability (Ostman, & Turtiainen, 2016). For the purpose of determining credibility, the action which will be taken is looking for the relevant sources which are up to date (Iphofen, & Tolich, 2018). There is also an aspect of involving reality within the study by avoiding a lot of assumptions. In addition to that, there will aspect of external validity whereby my findings can be applied in other studies which are similar. On the issue of dependability, the study will capture the description and being details to make sure each and every part within the report can stand on its own (Gomez, 2016). Finally, there will be representing my study to other fellow researchers to comment on it and suggest for adjustment where necessary.
Conclusion
In conclusion, this research proposal can be said to meet all the requirements needed. To start with it has identified the topic of discussion to be explored with the provision of rationale. It clearly defines some of the factors which are going to be researched on and their relationship to the well - being of the teacher. In addition to that, the proposal has a massive review of the literature on how the various psychological factors are suggested to influence the well - being of the teacher. About methodology and research design, the proposal has suggested that the qualitative method is perfect giving the rationale that it gives room for more research about the topic.
On the issue of the theoretical framework, the proposal has clearly defined independent variables and the dependent variable. It has also explained that it is through analysing the two types of variables that statistical relationship will be developed from where conclusions can be drawn. About the issue of how data is be...
