Introduction

Ethics education does not make people more ethical but rather exposes students into0 dilemmas of ethics that subsequently enables them to develop their proper decision-making process. Also, it equips them with the knowledge and skills that will allow them to make their own ethical decisions in their careers (Capsim). However, it is always more challenging, to be honest in business than areas of life flowing the nature of the tasks that are involved in the organizations. Such challenges encompass complex decisions with no time for reflection, intense and brutal competition, inevitable competition, inevitable moral sensitivity, cognitive dissonance, individualism, bureaucratic culture, and rationalized behavior (Business Ethics).

Ethics Education

I, therefore, believe in what I do about ethics education and business ethics since the above can make people more ethical since it enhances critical thinking, exposes students to vast and opposing viewpoints, enhances one’s faulty rationalization and prepares people for success. That is achieved through various ethical learning models stemming from a self-justificatory model, ethical validation learning, transformational moral learning, and moderate ethical learning, all that enables the learners to be more honest in both their professional and personal lives (The Aura Advisor).

The main message from the videos underscores morality in humans through their moral judgements, feelings and beliefs. The videos also underlie that people are born with the potential to do good, albeit they are not acceptable following the narcissism in them that encompasses their self-centred. Finally, the videos juxtapose the essence of ethics in awakening rationality that subsequently helps them reflect in their impulses to do good (Øverenget). The information from the videos is relevant to business ethics since they talk about ethics which begets morality that not only helps in shaping business views but also enables one to develop moral beliefs to withstand pressure.

Unethical Behaviors

From the article, Unethical Rationalizations and Misconceptions, I have once encountered unethical behaviors where people justify their actions using rationalization as depicted in the report. That was in the spheres of the ethics surrender rationalization my colleagues believed that society could not effectively prevent ethical misconduct like corruption in various enterprises. However, such unethical rationalizations and misconducts can be reduced by fostering ethical behaviors through the creation of checks and balances, being proactive, providing knowledge and tools, and establishing straightforward guidelines (Everfi).

One of the most memorable personal encounters of unethical behavior that I had at my workplace was when an abusive behavior by the company's manager who used to mistreat and disrespect me because of my gender. He was a male chauvinist who asserted his male dominance on us female staff arguing that male employees were superior to us in terms of pay and superiors positions. The stakeholders that were affected by these behaviors were the female employees who were considered as inferior. The female employees were never involved in crucial decision making, never considered for promotions, and we were paid lower than our male counterparts, yet we did the same amount of work.
