Introduction

Visual media is the relaying of information through images and media, which makes the message relayed memorably and easily understood s the audience can easily remember and articulate various factors to it. Visual media helps to solve different issues in the current world. For education, it's used to present information to students. In business, it's used to present information to other associates, mainly in PowerPoint form. It is also crucial for the deaf as they can understand the message relayed through images, which is evident with the presence of sign language interpreters in every news broadcasting. However, it is only limited to persons who can access electricity to power their electronic devices. Virtual media is current technology that has helped improve communication across various aspects of life, which makes it popular with a mass number of users. Below is an explanation of how it is used and its impact on the current world.

Types of Visual Media

Virtual media has been able to be categorized into three versions, namely; images, videos, and infographics. All these types are interpreted through vision. Images are the relaying of information through visions captured in the form of pictures mostly captured in the past hence used to express a specific piece of information. However, video is the representation of recorded information that can be played back and recorded in electronic form. Videos mostly have an explanation because of the flow of information; hence are easily understandable by the audience and can pass the language barriers by use of subtitles that can translate the language to other forms that can be easily conveyed across various languages hence making it easy to comprehend the language (Jurriens, E. 2017).

On the other hand, infographics is the use of graphics to present data. This is mostly used in a presentation where the sender of the message makes it easy for the audience to understand hence making it easy for them to make decisions and ensure that they can gain all the information without difficulties. During the presentation of business information, it is imperative to use this media as prospective business partners can have the same view as the sender, therefore, help them understand how their decision is going to affect their future. Financial decisions are hard to make and require much transparency to make; therefore, sincere information should be relayed in the most understandable form should be relayed to give people the confidence to partner with you (Jurriens, E. 2017).

Visual Materials

These are materials used in the conveying of visual information to ensure that the message from the sender can reach the intended audience in the most convenient form without alternation of the initial information. The intended audience uses different forms of material; therefore, the sender of the message should have prior knowledge of the audience to ensure that the information they are relaying can reach the audience most conveniently. Factors to be considered include' age, Financial capability, language diversity, nationality, access to electricity, geographical position, and ethnic communities. Such material includes; photographs, cinema, and video films, videotapes, paintings, drawings, cartoons, prints, designs, and three-dimensional art such as sculpture and architecture. These materials are used to ensure that the intended information can reach the intended audience. Cartoons are at most times articulated with children, therefore, are at most times used to relay important information to the children therefore including all regulations such as moral regulations to ensure that the information relayed is most conveniently without affecting how these children behave or their views on various events in their lives (Jurriens, E. 2017).

The Audience of Visual Information

The intended audience of virtual information varies according to the type of information being relayed. For education-based information, the intended audience re the students or educational stakeholders such as the students or the syllabus creators. In most cases, the students are considered because of e-learning, which gives the students a chance to study through the internet to cross over challenges such as borders for international students to receive the most useful information. During such difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic, learning institutions have been closed so as to control the spread of the virus and to help secure more lives. Students have been forced to enroll in online education to help them acquire skills during such tough times and ensure that the tuition fees paid are put to use (McKibbin, W. J., & Fernando, R. 2020). Online learning saves time for students and ensures that they save time such that as they continue learning through these times, it helps them save time and prevent them from spending more time in school hence giving them a chance to graduate in time and ensure that the students' life plan can go according to plan. However, during the formation of the curriculum, formulators use videos to present their ideas to the respective stakeholders. Before implantation of every education system or curriculum, the literate in the social conduct researches and come up with results that they present to the respective bodies. The presented data is in visual media to ensure that the information is easily understandable hence making it easy for the respective bodies to make decisions. If at all it is convenient, then the shortest time should be taken to ensure that the students get the high-quality education system within the shortest time as quality education makes the citizens marketable by equipping them with the most essential and essential skills to ensure that they can tackle the current world issues appropriately.

On the other hand, in business practices, business proposals and ideas are first analyzed and presented in this manner to ensure that the intended audience, the facilitators or sponsors, can understand the way or means through which the funds they produce are going to be handled. Analysis and proper representation of this information give the audience a clear view of how the funds are to be utilized. Creating confidence in facilitators brings along very many advantages, such as employment, which ensures that the citizens of respective countries can access finances. Access to finances makes it possible for the economy to stabilize due to the increase in income tax that gives the country ability to support the citizens by providing essential services that help them to have a good standard of living. High standards of living give the citizens the ability to produce more, given that they can access high-quality services such as medical facilities to ensure they are in good health. Other facilities such as a good medium of transportation make it possible for citizens to access their working premises using the shortest time possible (Kingsnorth, S. 2019).

In addition to that, citizens of a country in democratic countries also need to access information on events happening in their country. Through the television, they can access information about activities taking place in different parts of the country. That way, they can be updated on the current issues going on. Officials elected to represent the citizens use this medium to inform their citizens on different activities. Since the leaders can't move to each citizen to give the information, they use visual media since it covers a large area to convey information to their respective followers. This ensures that the information conveyed can reach the audience within the shortest time, therefore, making it easy for them to affect different decisions as the citizens can access the information fast enough, therefore, making it able for the citizens to make decisions and prepare themselves for the changes. During pandemics, the governments use this medium to equip their citizens with the most relevant information to protect them from being affected. This can occur with the citizens having television sets in their homes (Al-Aufi, A. S., Al-Harthi, I., AlHinai, Y., Al-Salti, Z., & Al-Badi, A. 2017).

Uses of Visual Media

Visual media majorly facilitate communication. It is used in education in e-learning to help students understand more and increase their level of remembering as remembering is better through material media than any other form of communication. Students can acquire a set of skills from their instructors through this media. Mostly used by students in the submission of assignments and projects to help teachers save time during marking and reduce the risk of these crucial documents to get lost. Students using long-distance learning use this form of media to overcome the hustle of traveling across the world to acquire education.

It is used in a business during the presentation of business ideas and proposals to help the intended audience,the investors, to have a clear picture of what they are going to finance so that they can make decisions based on the type and quality of information presented. Well organized information presented well mostly wins over investors and can gain funds to develop their ideas. However, international organizations and virtual teams use this form of communication through teleconferencing to communicate, which gives them a chance to see the face of the person communicating and have a view of illustrations in case required. It is also used in vertical information to present information from employees to employers or to pass over instructions from employers to employees. Also used in inter-organizational communication where different organizations communicate across mainly across partnering organizations.Businesses that have franchises also use it to share information or inform different entities on changes or actions to be taken to ensure there is uniformity in the quality of services offered. Businesses also use this form to create awareness and market their products. This helps them expand their customers, making it possible to have an increase in the number of sales and explaining to their customers how different commodities are used. Additionally, it has been highly embraced in conducting online business because customers can see the product they are purchasing, which affected the growth of the international trade as people are now able to purchase goods from different parts of the world outside their countries and the goods delivered at their designated destination. Users also use it to entertain themselves through movies and other programs, therefore, giving people a chance to recreate themselves at a cheaper cost such is illustrated by the creation of applications such as Netflix which makes it possible for people to watch movies at home without going to cinema halls previously used by the wealthy but through such, now even local people who have visual devices that can access the internet can enjoy themselves. Social communication has been made accessible through social media where people are across the world, share pictures and videos; this has helped grow the social network of most people. Applications such as Instagram, Facebook, and Whatsapp messenger have made it possible for people living in different geographical areas to communicate and share information. Many books have been written and appreciated; writers add pictures in their writings to give readers a better perspective of what they are writing about hence the reason why books with pictures, including the Bible, show high sales.
