Philip argues that the education burn of bilingual languages in schools has so many negative impacts on society. Some of the adverse effects included a lack of economic development in the country and loss of culture to the indigenous people. Philip utilizes rhetorical devices such as pathos logos and ethos to convince the audience that banning the learning of Spanish in United States schools will lead to the loss of the culture of the Latinos and other Spanish speaking individuals. "millions of Spanish speaking immigrant students lost the opportunity to learn or retain valuable literacy skills in Spanish while they acquired English" this is an emotional statement which Philip uses it to get the emotional support from both the Latinos and other languages to stop the bilingual ban in the academic system (Carter, Phillip). Also, Philip argues the audience that when they keep on exercising, the education law ban on the bilingual subject will later lead to the loss of the culture to both of the students; for instance, children would live in future leave school with them being unable to read or write in Spanish. The use of pathos is among the most reliable device to use because they control the feelings which are powerful than brain and one can make the rational decision quickly.

Philip uses rhetorical appeal ethos to convince the audience that he is credible, and information being conveyed by him is trustworthy and dependable. The audience loves knowing the credibility of the author or any other person coming up with an idea or proposal, and through reliability, a person can understand that the information from this person is legit and not rumors. Logos are clearly outlined in the article in different scenarios to provide clear evidence to the audience on how the system has being affected, and when they do not take action, they can face some consequences. "They kicked us out. Yes, they used to expel you from school", Philip uses the evidence from the interviewee of how they were being treated in the education system during their time and how this has affected her life in general (Carter, Phillip). The use of logos is a clear indication of the author involving the audience in reasoning arguments, and facts and logistics are employed to argue which is the best option to use.

In the article is evident that Philip uses the authoritative voice to present his arguments, which portrays his cultural context as having his roots from Latin ethnicity. The employment of different stylistic devices helps Philip to present his arguments and points in a professional way which leaves the audience with only a single option, and that is to support him on having the bilingual law ban uplifted because if it goes on it will affect their social, political and economic lifestyle. From a personal point of view, it is clear that the author knows how to use his styles to win the people's support in his proposal.
