Perfect Hero
All humanity goodness characterizes this type of hero. The ideal hero tends to be healthy, both physically and mentally. Selfless, uncompromising, decisive and kindness are some of the characters of this type of Hero (Klapp). He or she inspires others and makes them feel more inferior. This kind of hero fits superhero comics, fairy tales, epic fantasy or works of satirical. Examples of the Perfect Hero are Odysseus, Superman, and King Arthur.
The Misfits
This is another type of hero and more different from the others. Social outcast may be associated with the misfits and may be a member of different religions or races. In most cases, they have a particular disability hence end up being isolated. A certain degree of physiological misfit may be associated with them and are sometimes distrustful, shy or bitter of others. The Misfit Hero will use their difference in a way that they can be used as their advantage. This type of hero is regarded as one of the most significant kinds of heroes in literature simply because the peer of the younger one makes them feel different (Paiva). Examples of the misfits' Heroes are Drizzt Do 'Urden, Hurry Potter, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
The Everyman
For this type, not everyone who is the strongest or the smartest becomes a hero. This type of hero is not much different from other people. What it takes to be Everyman Hero is doing what is supposed to be done in the right time and right manner. In most cases, this type of hero is a hero that everybody can relay to since he or she carries their fears as well as their problems (Paiva). There are no more significant signs or slightly qualifications that can tell that this hero is destined for greatness. Some examples of Everyone Hero are Edmund Pevensie, Arthur Dent and Bilbo Baggins.
The Grizzled Old-Timer
These are heroes that have done a lot and can be remembered for what they have done. There are a lot of mounted dragons on the walls that tell all about these heroes. They do not need to be active, but they can share their experience of the past. They are the best teachers of others. They are reliable leaders, and they can carry a group to victory (Klapp). Most of the people use these heroes as their sources of inspiration after their death. An example includes; Granny Weatherwax, Gandalf, Obi-wan Kenobi
The Anti-Hero
Most of the times, this type of heroes is mostly known due to their ability to do jobs that no one could not do or maybe unwilling to do. They want to be rewarded for executing tasks that others are unable to. They may not be willing to do it, but since they want some reward out of it, they end up doing it. They are not evil, but they lack heroic virtues (Paiva). They are characterized by brutality, Greed, selfishness, and ruthlessness. Examples are Haplo, Rainstin Majere, Han solo.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the above classification of the types of heroes makes some of the kinds amongst others. Their characteristics bring on the type of hero they belong to thus arriving at the examples provided.
