Introduction

Physical and natural environment have played a significant role in limiting the direction and location of various trade routes in the world. For instance, the level of technology has been a critical factor in determining trade routes. The value of technology that people have influenced the way they produce both goods and information. For example, many people may take many hours or days to cut down a tree using a stone axe while a single person may only need less than an hour to cut the same tree using a steel axe. Therefore, advancement in technology made it possible for people to increase their output. As the production increased due to advanced technology, the volume of commercial exchange also increased. The trade networks also doubled as a result of increased production. It, therefore, means that technology has a bearing on the trade network. With improved technology, the volume of goods produced goes up, and consequently, trade routes also increases.

The amount of energy being tapped by the human to increase production and exchange has also been a limiting factor. Use of energy such as animals, wind energy, following the water, has been limited. Through the fossil fuel revolution established during the eighteenth century, allowed people to engage in an energy ceiling. For instance, in the past, the steam engine allowed the extraction of a vast amount of energy contained in coal and natural gas and petroleum. Consequently, electrical and recently produced nuclear power have had the same consequence. Therefore, the production of goods and information has immensely increased round the world. Therefore, the amount of energy is a limiting factor that can affect the trade routes as it determine the amount of goods and information produced and transferred around the world.

However, it is challenging to protect the environment and improved the production and exchange of goods around the world. Increasing production of products would require a large amount of energy. Some of the methods used to generate energy, such as the burning of fossil fuels harm the environment. Fossil fuels such as petroleum are likely to cause global warming, which is a threat to the environment. Therefore, increasing the production of goods through fossil fuels will require appropriate measures to help protect the environment. Some of the methods that can be used to protect the environment from the effect of fossil fuels include treating the gases produced by these fuels before releasing them to the environment. However, such measures are expensive, thus making it impossible to increase production and protecting the environment at the same time.

Generally, recycling waste products is one of the ways that can be used to protect the environment. Recycling helps in reducing non-biodegradable materials on the environment. Some of these materials degrade the environment if left to lie on the environment. As one of the policy to help protect the environment and increase the production of goods, it should be made mandatory to recycle waste products. People should be encouraged to collect recyclable materials and take them to recycling companies.

Conclusion

Consequently, laws should be established to ensure that all recyclable materials are recycled. Individuals who fail to observe the law should be charged in a court of law and find. Such measures will significantly help conserve the environment as we increase the production of goods and information. That way, production can be grown as we protect the environment.
