Social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or even WhatsApp are prone to the social media crime that has been of great concern since the past around twenty years. The problem has been growing and gaining its ground owing to increased tactics and inflammatory attacks from the side of the offenders, wedged and targeted on some innocent people. ln this regard. The persistence and the seemingly surging nature of the problem are also what has raised the need for its description as well as subsequently exposing the need for its solution, for the generations now and into posterity. The problem is that of the persistent generation of lies about a particular person or entity, meant to pull it down politically or in a manner in which the problem creation was intended (Taylor, Fritsch, & Liederbach, 2014). lt is a worldwide problem and has been of great concern. Unknown people can take into the social media platforms and post unsubstantiated stories a particular individual, which then spreads so fast because of the social nature and ease of access by a vast population (Barak, 2013). Most of the people will, in the end, tend to have distorted ideologies and believes about a particular subject who will then be under the problem of a tainted image. First, the problem can involve the generation of lies and distorted stories about a particular person. In this regard, the perpetrators can be having the interest to taint the reputation of such a person adversely. The person under the problem at and can be an upcoming or a well-established celebrity. It can also be about a particular politician running for a given political seat. Moreover, the story can be in a distorted nature where its presentations are not corresponding to the way it occurred, hence leading to the effective circulation of unsubstantiated stories about such an individual. The result is that the individuals' image in the eyes of the people of the entire world is not the way it is, hence settling the intended purpose of ill tainting the individual (Salter, 2016).

Additionally, the false information about a particular brand or product can be manufactured by certain people and circulated in social media. Such composes a crime where the products of a particular person, company, or entity have their true nature and composition altered by people with sinister motives of bringing them down in terms of the way the public views such products. The vice can involve providing wrong information concerning the composition and ingredients of a particular product. In this case, the ingredients can be altered such that harmful ones are presented, which cannot be true (In Bhatia, In Poynting, & In Tufail, 2018). They can be aimed at bringing out wrong facts that the products are made of certain ingredients which are harmful to their health. In this regard, a large portion of the public can have their minds and thoughts altered and inclined to believe more on such lies with the interest of the safety of their health. Such distorted stories about the products can be composed by the agents of the competing firms, aimed at bringing it down and ensuring that fewer customers subscribe to such products, hence giving room for the competing firms to take advantage of the available market to advertise and sell their products quite proficiently, therefore resulting in their prominence in the market. Also, if the lies are spread on social media platforms about a particular politician, they are meant to reduce his/her influence and popularity on the side of the potential voters, hence giving room for the competitor to take advantage of the situation and woo the voters to vote them in.

In this regard, the implementation of the measures to eradicate the malice of weaving and having the wrong information on specific entities in the social media platforms will ensure that all the people in the world will have their true nature in the eyes of the public maintained and preserved, while avoiding wrongful distortions in the long run. Additionally, there is the case of company products. In this regard, the phasing out of the problem in which their distorted information is weaved and circulated in social media platforms will ensure that all the business entities compete on fair grounds and not on the grounds of tarnishing other parties' products and services. Thus, there shall be healthy competition in their world.
