Introduction

The future of the world is in the hands of only one-third of the world's population-children. Sadly, there are millions of children in the United States of America and other parts of the world, that are living in poverty, enduring violence and negligence, denied access to education, and forced to flee because of conflicts. The adversities faced by children was the motivation for the establishment of the Save the Children Organization in the US in 1932. During this period, its objective was to help numerous American families who were socially and economically struggling because of the Great Depression. People aligned with the organisation would donate clothes, books, and toys for the use of children while at home. At school, they would serve healthy meals since they knew that food was a challenge to the children back at home. After years, the organisation expanded its programs to include farming, education, and sponsorship of numerous courses that directly benefit children in at least one hundred and twenty countries. Since then, it has continued to impact the lives of children globally. Save the Children Organization has existed because of in-kind donations from individuals and organisations. I believe that you, too, can put a smile on a child today if you give to the organisation. You should give because you believe in a better future, can make a difference, secure the future of a child, and you believe in the commitment of the organisation of ending child-mortality and saving them from conflict, violence and neglect.

Give to the Save the Children Organization because you want a better world for the children. Every day, we wake up to news a child's life is in danger or at risk because of numerous risks. The world, as it is, is not safe and conducive for children. It is sad and heartbreaking to imagine what they will become if we do not take individual responsibility for making the world better. The United Nations report that 1.8 million children's death occur annually because of poor sanitation, which leads to diarrhoea (Hill, 2016). According to the Save, the Children Organization, at least 15,000 children die daily in the world because of reasons that are preventable (Corr, Santos, and Fowler, 2016). During the Yemen crisis, research showed that 85,000 children died of starvation. Reports show that at least 13 million people in Yemen are affected by famine. Majority of them are children (Save The Children Organization, n.d). During the Syrian conflict, millions of children flee from their country hence leading to a refugee crisis in the neighbouring countries. A cyclone displaced at least 1.5 million young boys and girls in Mozambique (Save The Children Organization, n.d). Thousands of vulnerable children were displaced after the economic collapse of Venezuela. According to Ronald Paul Hill, there are children in the Eastern US City that are living in the impoverished state (Hill, 2016). The United Nations admits that there is progress made in alleviating the global living standards of children (Hill, 2016). However, so much still needs to be done by you and me.As you can see from the data, the dire state of children in the US and the rest of the world indicate that we need to come together. The few individuals and organisations currently involved in saving children from the adversities need you. They cannot do it alone. They need you. When you give, you will be helping in ensuring that when crisis strike, Save the Children Organization will protect the children within the shortest period.

Through giving the Save the Children Organization, you will be making a difference in the life of a child and contributing towards his/her dreams by providing health, education, safety, and security services. Everybody has a chance in life. The American dream supports that every child should have the opportunity and resources to exploit their potential (Corr et al., 2016). However, going by the state of children in the US, many of them are far from living the American dream. The Save, the Children Organization, has been instrumental in changing the lives of many children around the world.

Consequently, most of them are on their way to achieving their dreams. It has delivered education, food, and healthcare services to children in both easily accessible and remote areas. For example, in 2010, 700,000 children benefited from shelter materials donated to the organisation after an earthquake in Haiti (Save The Children Organization, n.d). During the same year, 7.3 million children below five years benefited from community-based healthcare services supported by the organisation in various parts of the world. In 2011, 7.6 million children affected by tsunamis, tornadoes, earthquakes, and drought benefited from relief care and protection services delivered by the organisation (Save The Children Organization, n.d). In 2013, 38,000 children in the US benefited from the early literacy programs provided by the organisation (Save The Children Organization, n.d). The mentioned impacts are just the tip of the iceberg. Save the Children Organization has significantly improved the lives of children in more than 120 countries, including the US (Save The Children Organization, n.d). Also, the magnitude of impact in a child's life when one gives to the organisation. You too can make the difference with whatever you have in any amount.

Every child deserves a future free from negligence, security threats, violence, and calamities like flood and drought. Admittedly, we cannot promise to prevent these adversities from befalling children. However, through the support of organizations like the Save the Children, we ensure that during their time of need, we accord them the care and love that they need. The future of a child is at risk every time the immigration officials in the US apprehend a child. According to a study by Baily Charles, Schuyler Henderson, and Rachel Taylor, 2016, at least 68,541 children were apprehended for entering the US through the country's border to Mexico (Charles, Henderson, and Taylor, 2016). The US immigration office reports that the children travelled without parents. Although the number decreased to 39,970 in 2015, the migration of unaccompanied children has become an international crisis forcing governments in various countries to call for health and political actions (Charles et al., 2016). Nevertheless, unaccompanied children, immigrants have subjected children to gang violence, physical abuse by non-parent caregivers, and high rates of intentional homicide. Another factor facing children that needs your intervention by giving the Save the Children organisation is natural calamities like floods, earthquakes, and drought. According to UNICEF, at least 2 billion children in the world live in poverty (McAnally, 2013). Consequently, there is a growing number of children suffering from anxiety, depression, and other related mental health disorders (McAnally, 2013). Save the Children has secured the future of many children through its feeding, health, education and advocacy programs. The process involves follow-up of the beneficiaries of the program to ensure long-term impacts. The world still has many problems. Every day we watch the news or browse the internet, we hear of children dying of hunger, failing to attend school because of lack of fees, fleeing their homes because of conflicts, and committing suicide because of the adversities they have had to endure at a tender age. No one deserves to undergo such struggles-certainly, not children. Your contribution not only protects a child from all these but also improves their confidence in achieving his/her dreams.

Save the Children Organization deserves your contribution because it has proven commitment in ending child-mortality, and saving them from conflict, violence and neglect. The organisation knows that people give through it because they trust it with their hard-earned resources. Also, the organisation prioritises transparency and accountability because it does not take the generosity and sense of responsibility of supporters for granted. As such, it implements an efficient monitoring and evaluation framework and log approaches which have shown the impact of well-wishers support in health, education, and other relief services. According to the Save the Children report, 2018, their interventions have changed the lives of 134 million children through emergency response, education, advocacy, protection, innovation, and health programs (Save The Children Organization, n.d). 447,000 0f the beneficiaries are in the US (Save The Children Organization, n.d). It has achieved a 13% annual savings per child (Save The Children Organization, n.d). Additionally, for over a hundred years, the organisation has consistently ranked high globally in keeping children secure and safe through fundraising, crowdfunding, and support from individual fundraisers. Save the Children has changed the lives of children in the USA and an additional 120 countries because of the trust bestowed on it by people (Save The Children Organization, n.d). You can trust that your donation to a child through the organisation will help you change a life.

Conclusion

In conclusion, a third of the world's population is made up of children. They hold 100% of our future. Just as we expect for them to take charge of the world when they grow up, so should we invest in programs and interventions that assure them of a secure future. With the help of organisations and individual well-wishers, Save the Children organisation has been working to alleviate the social, political, and economic standards of children. It has implemented numerous fundraising strategies to achieve high resource mobilisation. Although the organisation has significantly transformed the lives of children in the US and other parts of the world, so much still needs to be done. Many children in sub-Saharan Africa are even dying of hunger while others are wither denied access to education or dropping out of school because of harsh living conditions at home. Countless children are dying in war-tone regions like Sudan, DRC Congo, Iran, and Yemen. Your contribution can do a lot of unimaginable things. It can feed a child. It can keep a child in school. It can provide shelter to a child displaced because of conflicts or other natural calamities. It can go a long way in making the world better, securing a future, and supporting a child to reach his/her dreams.
