Introduction
Revenge in most cases is the solution to the times we feel hurt and betrayed by the people around us. We seek to make them feel hurt by our actions and words just the way they made us feel hurt. Revenge may be directed to both the superior and the inferior people, but in most cases, the inferiors suffer more. The attack can be carried both consciously and unconsciously. The following are advice I will give to a friend who seeks to revenge on someone who has hurt or deceived them.
First I will help them understand that revenge will not make them feel better. This is because he or she will not have addressed their emotional pain instead they would have caused another person to hurt so instead of one person hurting two will be hurting. So I would advise them to understand why they felt hurt when that action was taken against them and then help them to find a solution like telling the person how they felt or even speaking to a person in authority concerning the behaviors of the people who hurt them.
Second I will help them understand that seeking revenge is a waste of precious time that would have been used to make themselves better.in this case I will make them understand that a lot of their time and energy will be used in coming up with a better plan on how to execute a revenge plan against, therefore. They will need to study their offender's behavior their social life and sometimes their thoughts for them to come up with a successful vengeful plan. Therefore a lot of time is used to carry out no beneficial activities while they could have used that time to do other constructive tasks.
I will also make them understand that revenge could make them be caught in an endless revenge loop deepening the hurt and the pain. This is because when my friend has carried out there revenge the person may also decide to avenge too and the cycle keeps on. It's therefore essential they should not seek revenge if they don't want to keep being hurt by the same person.
Fourth I will help them understand that revenge is not suitable for their health. This is because when they sort to seek revenge, they operate from a negative emotion sphere this, therefore, makes then angry at any slight provocation. This will, thus, lead to an increase in stress level which in return will lead to health issues. Revenge can also cause emotional problems such as being bipolar and depression. Socially the person may lose their trust on others since they think other people are out to harm them hence creating social insecurity.
Finally, I will advise them to avoid being vengeful because there action may be against the laws of the country. Depending on their plan it might not be legal for them to take a course of action that might threaten the welfare of the other person. It will, therefore, make them understand that there is nothing grievous that was done to them that is warranted them to have a bad public record. I will also make them know that if they are caught how the society views them will change and people will start seeing them as lawbreakers regardless of who hurt who first and therefore revenge is not a worthwhile course of action.
