Introduction

Professional ethics are sets of rules that morally define a particular act by individuals. Some professionals have a unique social trait such as politicians hence must stick to the code of conduct (Gianrocco. Para.1). Individuals prevent loss of dignity as well maintaining a good relation to the public. They should portray good morals and characters to the public. The paper discusses the professional ethics of the politician and the ways they use to persuade the public. Deontology ethics are duties that the politicians should accomplish by acting according to the rules and laws governing them. The morality of their actions should be per the rules rather than its impact. They should always take measures that have beneficial effects on the public. Politicians usually persuade voters during a campaign to win the election. Politicians face various moral dilemmas alongside their professional life. Politicians use metaphors, facts, and media platforms to convince the public. They break their deontology ethics by swearing and promising the people, they will fulfill their manifestos. They tend to persuade the people with the campaign money as well as false assurance. They attend media interviews all over to channel their manifestations to the public. Politicians tend to clean their names by socializing with citizens and attending the fundraisers in various parts of the US.

On the contrary, when they join the office, they tend to forget about their duties and responsibilities. They only think about themselves and how to get rich instead of developmental ideas. Professional ethics usually breaks as they violate their office law, which can lead to impeachment.

Ethical Dilemma in the Case that Relates to the Politicians

A good example of the ethical dilemma by the politicians is the fact that most of the politicians are corrupt and love to take bribery. A major point that most of the politicians would focus on during their campaigns is to end and do away with corruptions and bribery when they are in powers. It is true that corruption is a major challenge to the economic development of a country. By convincing the public that they will end corruption, many of the politicians will be willing the trust of the public, especially to the voters.

The ethical dilemma in the above case is when, in a real sense, it is through corruption and embezzling of the public funds that most of these leaders have found their ways out. Fighting corruption may not be easy given that the same politicians are the corrupt individuals. The moment that a leader refuses to name a fight against corruption, they minimize their chances of winning an elective seat. On the other hand, most of the politicians find it necessary to be corrupt to acquire the amount of wealth that they need.

Role of money Among the Politicians

People have speculated that money cannot be used as a determinant of the political result of an election, especially in the national seats. One can then ask why the politicians need money to win the election seats. It is important to note that, money plays a fundamental role in determining the election result. Lack of money by politicians may make some of them appear unethical during their campaign period based on the choice of words that they use to attract voters. The fact that money can make politicians misbehave during their campaigns might make them lose their level of self-esteem. On the other hand, politicians need money to plan and administer their campaigns effectively.

Lies and being Dishonest

It is important to note that most politicians have to lie to convince the electorates. Being a straightforward person may make a person to lose votes in highly contested political seats. Politicians know that it is unethical to lie and to be dishonest persons. On the other hand, they have to tell lies to win their position. In an attempt to convince voters, politicians in most cases can use any sweet words that will help them secure the posts without considering the possible impacts of their actions.

However, politicians are governed by the rules and regulations in the law that ensures that they do not break the code of ethics. Political morals are practices of judging the agents and actions (Blair.Para7). There are those ethics that govern how politicians behave while in office while others are concerned about the law. They both outline the consequences of every action they engage either positive or negative.

The code of ethics for politicians includes the learning, to be honest. Many political candidates tell lies to the public whenever they answer a question. It is ethically significant for the politicians to display honesty and integrity to the public. It also helps to earn trust from the public as well as extending their ruling terms.

They should also avoid turning into the media to cover up their problems. Politicians should take their responsibilities of leading the public. They should also face charges in case of any mistakes.

They should also use funds appropriately without embezzling public money into their accounts. Politicians should ensure that they do not violate any office rules to maintain dignity from the public. Human beings are entitled to commercial breaks for mind relaxation. Therefore, they should always take care of their selves by taking a work break severally. They should always put their focus on changing people's life rather than becoming famous.

Conclusion

In conclusion, politicians use several mechanisms to lure the public. They face a dilemma in their professional ethics to selfishness. However, a good politician should always prioritize the public grievances. They should face the consequences of their actions regardless of the power. The political parties can also monitor the politician's ethical codes through lay of rules and regulations to follow. Some of the common ethical dilemma associated with the politician's ways of life include the ability to tell lies and to be corrupt that they understand are unethical, yet they have to do them to survive.
