Introduction
Inattention to results and avoidance of accountability as well as lack of commitment presents a series of causes of teams' dysfunction within organizational management of many companies in the business field. The effective incorporation and understanding of the cause form the basis of proper corporate management; thus, a team can manage the results of its targets as well as choice in the organization. The absence of trust, the first cause of dysfunction to a team, unveils the concept of showing weaknesses whenever possible in the team management to achieve and manage the results of an organization. It is essential for team members to expose their shortcomings hence becomes easy to manage team dysfunction, absence of trust. The paper here analyses three dysfunctions of a team as well as providing solutions to describe a case study relating to business decisions and management.
Absence of trust is one of the dysfunctions among the three dysfunctions evident in the described case study. Members of the team in the underlined case study unveiled the concept of trust absence for example when Jeff tried to answer Kathryn in the context "They are leaving it up on us" after the answer, no one spoke. It shows a section that focuses over the issue regarding lack of trust within the team hence an issue that is in the performance improvement team in the described case study. In the context of the related case study when Jeff answered Kathryn, and no one was talked on the same, it shows an issue of trust absence.
In this case, the method as a consultant I will use to address the issue is through rational. In the incorporated method, problem identification would be ideal in approaching team dysfunction within the team and more specifically over the issue, absence of trust. Examination of all potential cause of the problem would be the second step in addressing the issue as a consultant.
Inattention to results is another issue or dysfunction of the team in the present performance improvement team. This is evident in the context of the described case study when Nick was shocked, claiming that he thought the other group was in financial trouble. As a consultant, I will extend on the issue of making a decision and focus over on giving unexpected results attention it deserves. It is one of the methods I will incorporate to manage the present problem in the performance improvement team.
Avoidance of accountability is the third dysfunction issue present in the performance improvement team, and this is evident when members of the team focus on the question instead of buying into the new deal. The new agreement comes from the initial competitor that now want to buy them in the business field. It is an avoidance of the accountability present in the performance improvement team in the presented case study. As a consultant, one method I will incorporate here is through conducting a performance review to identify the issue and come up with the solution regarding presented dysfunction of the team. It would be an essential method to figure out as well as selecting the team members' accountability.
Conclusion
To sum up, avoidance of accountability and inattention to results as well as the absence of trust presents a series of dysfunction present in the performance team. The incorporation of various methods as a consult would help identify the issue and provide solutions.
