Introduction
Epistemology is the philosophical discipline that focuses on whether God exists. Ontology helps in understanding this topic as it focuses on the nature of reality for which humankind lives within. Philosophers such as Plato and Aristotle improved the discussion of the existence of God (Haught 47). Philosophers have the unique talent of questioning nature to the conclusive end, including religious matters such as examining the presence of God. The position of this paper is that God exists and it is up to human beings to be spiritually deep to be able to understand.
St Anselm and Thomas Aquinas were among the first philosophers to argue that God exists. It was against the argument by other scholars such as Bertrand Russell that God does not exist. They provided several views and evidence to prove to the people that surely God exists. Looking at the universe, it is a motley collection of different designs. It is wrong to say that those eye-catching views were made happen without a supernatural force helping to guide the process. There was a master designer of the universe (Haught 51). The size of the earth and the forces that hold everything together proves that there is a supernatural being. This supernatural being is God who put everything together since no man can do it. The existence of birth and death for all living things proves that there must be someone who ensures the continuity of life. If there is no God, life would never be available through procreation for all living things. It happens because there is God in heaven who looks over us (Lenzen 82).
The distance between the sun and the earth is just right for life to be. The amount of temperature released by the sun would be very hot if the earth moved closer. Through the supernatural power, the universe has always maintained the right distance from the sun. That is the power of God, which proves he exists since no humankind in his ability can be able to do it. No scientist in the world has ever been able to explain how that happens in simple terms. The earth always rotates around the sun in the same distance ensuring the temperature is enough for us to be able to live (Lenzen 91). The gravitational pool that helps the moon rotate around the earth with the right distance is a show of Gods existence. It is a phenomenon that cannot occur courtesy of human beings. It is through a supernatural power that helps everything to be for the support of human beings and the life that they enjoy. Scientists invest a lot of resources to research and understand the sun and the moon. However, they have never been able to logically and scientifically explain the mystery of God, who created the earth and all its belongings (Chignell 34).
How water helps in the existence of life is a wonder. The earth has both salty and pure water for human consumption. The salty ocean water evaporates and forms clouds which then form the rain that provides neutral and uncontaminated water for human and plant use. It is a natural process of water purification for the benefit of a man who cannot survive on salty oceanic water. Water has plants and other living things that exist underneath. The fact that there are life underwater means that God lives for us. The natural purification of water through evaporation without the input of human beings proves that there is a supernatural power. That is the power of God to balance the earth and ensure continuity of life (Haught 53).
The human brain is good evidence that God surely exists, and we should believe in him. Human brain functions more than a computer, and processes information that helps people live together, make decisions that matter, and enjoy life. The brain can record everything around you and still enables you to sense changes in your environment. The person who made the human brain must have been a supernatural being. The human brain can process information and form big storage and help human beings in making the right move in life. Courtesy of the human mind, all the inventions that we see today happened. Whoever created the human brain must have been a supernatural being with supernatural powers, and that is God (Lenzen 100).
Conclusion
Religion teaches people to believe in God. It is because God surely exists, and it is up to us to look around and see evidently that for sure, God lives in heaven. Looking around the environment one is in, the peculiar nature of life and the world is a testimony that a supernatural being keeps the thing in order. The epitome of all the examples given is the human brain. The human brain has helped recreate the world, and then it tells you that it is God who did all that. There is enough evidence to support that God is there, and we should believe in him.
