As a leader, how will you influence change in your professional specialty area?
Leadership is the art of inspiring workers to undertake their duties with the limited resources allocated by the organization (Kodish, 2017). However, despite the focus of administration being termed as the act of exercising authority over the junior worker, a lot is required to ensure that interpersonal skills are widely used to coordinate the workers and inspire them (Ebrahimi, et al., 2015). To ensure that changes are adequately influenced and adhere to by most of the workers, the art of teamwork pays a better role to ensure that workers within my specified area or the entire organization are on the same page.
Identify two strengths you have that will promote strong leadership
Proper leadership requires outstanding interpersonal skills that one should possess as an essential requirement to ensure that the workers are handled in the right manner (Kearns, et al., 2015). Through this, I have developed the expertise of listening as part of my most potent abilities, that can help me gather information from my team. Never the less, this skill has broadened my reason to see what others have in their head through welcoming all sorts of ideas that are influential to my leadership ability. On the other hand, social skill is another major contributor to my knowledge regarding leadership, as this helps me to associate with different people despite their ranks in the organization. Never the less, this has resulted in promoting inspiration to most of the employees.
Identify two areas of improvement to your skill in leading and influencing change?
Listening skill is one of the essential elements that facilitate proper and valid decision making. Based on the gathered information a leader has the opportunity of making good and accurate feedbacks. Through the listening skills, other employees have a chance of feeling delighted in reporting to their leader since they are guaranteed of attention during the presentation of their problems.
On the other hand, social skills promote unity and flexibility of employees to communicate and coordinate with each other. My social skills will provide an avenue for me to interact with my team members freely without any favor or bias.
What are two priority strategies you will implement to improve and enhance your leadership skills?
To ensure that the leadership skills are enhanced, I will have to eliminate the aspect of hierarchical communication, a step aimed at increasing the chances of communication and feedback enhancement. On the other hand, teamwork enhancement will be my second strategy to ensure that workers can work together to accomplish any given task within the set frame period.
