Introduction
After researches that have been made by the Institute of Medicine, the reports produced have made an emphasis that, leadership is a requirement towards achieving goals and objectives that are related to patient safety and human care (Missen, McKenna, & Beauchamp, 2016). The act of leadership is normally expected from all fields in the organization by the individuals that are from the executive suite heading towards who work directly with the patients. However, leadership act is also expected regardless of a place where care is delivered- clinics, inpatient units, settings required for laboratory procedures in-home or at care facilities that require long term.
Due to complexity and the breadth relating to literature, authors are seen to focus their leadership on only two levels present in the health care organizations. First, literature related to executive leadership was strictly reviewed. At this area, the focus was concerned with the relationship that exists between a chief nurse officer and chief executive officer (Almutairi, McCarthy, & Gardner, 2015). The aim of making a look at those relationships was to examine the act of leadership conducted by individuals who were responsible for making a set of the organization's direction and vision that are related to the quality of patient safety and care. Secondly, the authors too reviewed the exploration of literature that is related to the leadership activities that are exerted by physicians and nurse seen as co-leaders of patient care areas.
Nursing competency is the ability to perform clinical nursing care which is based on ethical thinking of a nurse and also the accurate skills required in nursing that are normally provided to meet needs of the cared (Garneau, & Pepin, 2015). Nurse of the Future Nursing Competence model is known as a graphic representation of Nurse of Future Nursing Core Competencies plus their relationship towards knowledge in nursing. Knowledge in nursing has however been placed at the core place to make a representation on how its totality makes a reflection concerning science and overarching art of nursing discipline and profession. According to my understanding Nursing of Future competencies were selected to effectively enhance better performance of work by nurses.
Conclusion
In conclusion, amongst the ten competencies, two that are of important atomy future nursing practice are; leadership and communication. This is because better leadership skills during practice are required to enhance an easy understanding of the behaviors of other individuals present in the practice. Further, communication is of great importance since the exchange of information is efficiently conducted healthily.
