Introduction
Sounders and Raganell, (2010) suggests that a good number of people who join law enforcement agencies draw their motivation from the need to acquire authority and power, while others do so seeking an opportunity to help their communities. Law enforcement offers a wide range of career opportunities ranging from police officers to special agents working under local, state or federal governments. It is, therefore, a field many of you would consider due to the numerous opportunity as well as job security characterized by jobs in this field. I come from a family filled with law enforcers and my constant interaction with detectives, and police officers have enabled me to bear an understanding of this career well enough to speak about it.
If your dream is to change people's lives in a manner that upholds and honor God, Law enforcement offers you a wide range of chances to live to your goal. I am going to discuss this job field in great detail, the array of job opportunities in this field, the duties, and responsibilities of law enforcement agents, the emerging trends in this career as well as the chance it offers in making solutions in a manner that God values.
To begin with, Law enforcement is a vast area and subsequently offers a lot of job opportunities for job seekers. Law enforcers range from police officers, sheriffs, detectives, special agents, wardens and so on. Law enforcement agents are generally tasked with the responsibility to protect people and their respective properties, respond to emergency calls from citizens as well as offer their subjects with first aid services in case of injuries. Law enforcement agencies see gradual decline caused by yearly retirements and general public population increase which all suggest a constant need of personnel in this career field.
Law enforcement as a career has also seen some trends which have potentially increased interest from young men and women. These trends include the use of technology which has made it easy for officers to detect crime and spot criminals. Such advanced technologies will make your work as a law enforcement officer easy and enjoyable since it will involve less straining during the job. There has also been keen attention to expand opportunities for women in the agencies with aims to achieve gender balance. This is an encouraging signal to the ladies here; grace yourselves for easy entry into the career of law enforcement.
Finally, the career fields of law enforcement offer a platform of helping others in a manner that upholds and honor God according to the bible. The scriptures refer to God in Deuteronomy 32:4 as a God of justice. He insists on justice from his servants (Deuteronomy 16:20). God values truth, and therefore as a law enforcement officer, you shall be honoring God when you administer justice.
Conclusion
In Summary, you can all see the need for more law enforcers as a result of constant retirements and population increase, a clear proof that law enforcement is a career worth considering. Further to the job opportunity, law enforcement offers you with a chance to honor God through the delivery of justice and to protect the poor and the fatherless from the oppressed.
