Introduction

On 25th November 2019, I interviewed a Christian from Catholic denomination. His name is mister Xyz, whose phone number is 444444 and email [email protected]. The guy was my friend since I was young as he used to work with my uncle. When I approached him, he was extremely willing and welcoming to me as I seated down in his office, I was sure that he opened up to me than anyone else. Mr. Xyz works under American defense forces as a chaplain. As a pagan, I knew less about Christianity; however, I had read much and equipped myself with the biblical canons, and most of the new issues I found called for clarity. Mr. Xyz treated me as a person of his own and buddy as he knew some of my family members. Initially, I thought it was not right to intrude and poke my nose on someone's religion, but he proved me wrong by his zeal to explain things. This paper discusses a religious interview elaborating various issues as interview by the interviewer.

I began to ask him about his background to create a base for my interview. He openly told me that before he joined American defense forces, he was operating under one of the most prominent Catholic parishes as a brother. I requested for a house and based on the one of the catholic books of catechism (Catholic Church, 2000). I asked him to elaborate on who a brother is as I had read that brothers do not engage in heterosexism. Mr. Xyz began to develop and explained very well where I was getting interested in his openness. He told me that brotherhood in Catholic emanates from a holy decision, which holistically entails a decision to separate from all youthful pleasures of marriage and sexual activities. As he continued, I pumped him with a verse in the book of Mathew that involved Jesus saying that looking at a woman lustfully is equivalent to mechanical sexual intercourse, an illusion that I had not understood well. He switched back and explained first the brotherhood position as a man who chooses to serve God in his Holy alter and separate from all sins. The man should not think or touch a woman. He is not expected to engage in corrupt deals, and finally, he should keep his body holy to serve Christ.

I enquired to know how he uses the concept of salvation to treat traumatized victims of war and attacks. He openly explained to me that one of the most vital things in Christianity is salvation, which bears fruits once a person likes it. Salvation as a gift of restoration offers to restore people from all of their pain and sufferings, which they get rid of them by the help of the holy spirit of God the father. The trinity of God, the father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit works coordination to rescue humanity. It is a vital tool that gives hope to the heartbroken and maltreated people. They finally, after he reconnects them to salvation, they find their burden off, and they begin a new life. When dealing with the victims of disasters, he encourages them by involving them to a discussion that Christ is their shepherd and that there is a reason why they exist, and they did not get swept by the calamities. T, the mighty God has a particular purpose for them. By introducing them to the kingdom of even, they get encouraged, and they develop hope hence fullness of life.

After I enquired to know about salvation and life after death, I saw his face reflection happiness. He began to explain salvation far from the current point. He told right from creation that God created heaven and death, and all that fills it. He proceeded that in the creation account, God created all other things within five days, and on the sixth day, he created humankind. As I am a pagan, I had no much information about these things, but with him, I seemed to trust his words the more. According to his explanation, which sunk deep in my heart, after the creation of man, God saw that man was so lonely. God subjected him to a deep sleep where a rib was extracted from him from which a woman was created. The most exciting thing is that the woman was made with the likeness and the image of the man she well fitted the man. They were placed in the garden of Eden, where they were instructed to till the garden and procreate. The garden seemed to have the fullness of life as there was enough supply if four rivers, one of which the rivers at the north was river Euphrates (Herberg,1983). The garden was well watered, and in it, there were all types of fruits. As usual, God used to visit them every day to show his companionship as they were pleasing creations to him. Man, and the woman used to be baked, and they could not feel ashamed of each other. One day God commanded them not to eat fruits from the tree, which was at the center of the garden.

One day, the woman was deceived by a serpent who is believed to be the Satan, and she ate from the forbidden tree. When she ate the fruit, she realized it was sweet, and she shares it with her husband. After they all ate, God opened their eyes, and they realized they were naked. They were all a shame of their nakedness, and they got to bide in the bush. By eating the forbidden fruits, they disobeyed God, and hence they sinned. By this, God got annoyed with them, and e his closeness to man reduced.

Conclusion

Consequently, due to their sin, the man was punished for eating from his sweat and woman to suffer labor pain when giving birth. Due to his love, God searched for the man and the woman from where they were hiding. God provided some clothes to cover their shame due to nakedness. The above situation marked the separation of humankind from God through sin. And now man began to live under the bondage of sin. The definition of salvation now is starting with the need to restore human beings from sin. Now Jesus Christ was offered to restore humankind through shading if blood and dying for humanity and remission of sin. The human being previously before the first coming of Jesus Christ could use animals as a sacrifice to wash their sins, and hence, they could be declared to be clean. However, at the era of Jesus, after his death, making was to be removed once and for all. Without him, there could be no salvation. When he died, he opens the door for everyone who believes that he is the one sent to save them, and they now have redemption. He again told me that he is supposed to come back as a rewarded go our deeds. As he was explaining, I got more excited until I decided to convert to Christianity, but then I have to learn more first. The salvation is accompanied by a testimony that is symbolically done through baptism. When people are baptized, they able to remember their salvation as they are baptized both in water and by the holy spirit. After salvation and baptism, a person began to live a spiritual life filled by the July spirit who guides them on good and evil and helps them make decisions against sin.
