Introduction
After my high school graduation, I did not have any idea on what career to pursue. My experience after consulting my friends and watching several movies and testimonials, I searched for a calling, discipline, and profession that could change my life and direct it towards serving the minority. I searched through the internet for some time to seek how various departments such as law, nursing, and engineering, among others, would profit me shortly. Through my research, I came to find out more than ethical relativism, and universal relativism, cubic operations and cubism, similes and syllogisms, statistics and philosophy, and brain structure and post-structuralism established a person's destiny and way of life. These fundamental ideas and knowledge I gathered through the research taught me much about the world and myself, and in reality, all the classes assisted in my transformation. Additionally, I came to understand that all the lessons and research transformed my knowledge; therefore, unleashing my skills-sets and passion towards pursuing the law as a career choice.
Throughout contemplations, consultations, and research, I came to learn and understand that I love and enjoy mathematics and statistics since the world is painted with black and white colors. Moreover, due to my love for mathematics and statistics, I was persuaded to purse economics since it is directly related to law. Furthermore, law and economics establish the abstract doctrine of the real world and time applications. To make matters ideal and exciting, the mathematical approaches that I have I learned that the knowledge could assist me in establishing positive changes in different legal environments such as the environment, medicine, domestic and foreign policies, and political anomalies. Moreover, it also dawned on me that law is an established abstract that firmly relates to reality and furthermore it is an ideal means of establishing positive change. Another drive in my life towards pursuing law was the candid, competitive, and highly ranked debate expert; and to prove my proficiency I have had the opportunity to compete in regional, provincial and international competitions. Nonetheless, I have represented my community as well as the high school in personal public speaking and debating competitions. Through such experience, I have come to learn that there are different perspectives to a problem. To attain a solution to a problem, I came to understand that critical thinking through the guidance of the law, speaking confidently, and establishing strong and supported arguments won cases. It is for such reasons that I came to realize and accept that my true calling was in law.
Ever since I was a kid, the community established me as a person that adores earning, which has led to my perfect GPA. Back to back, I attribute my academic excellence to the hard work and dedication of the thirst of knowledge and patience to learning new concepts. Ideally, from what I have learned and understood over the past year, is that law establishes a sense of fulfillment towards my responsibility to my community, family and nation; in other terms, the law promotes a sense of accomplishment that no other discipline or profession does. To make matters interesting, I have taken the mandate to make canoe trips, hiking, and team management workshops since they have assisted with the inspiration, motivation, and ideal decision-making skills in times of dilemma. Nonetheless, all these functions have promoted my leadership and management skills since life, and knowledge has established that all lawyers are defined by their means of making decisions, as well as arriving at a solution. Such knowledge and experience have assisted me in understanding my capabilities since not only have I made life decisions, but also steered groups and other personalities to success in a time of challenges.
I accept that I am not perfect due to some mistakes made in the past, but through these challenges and bad decisions, I came to realize that no man or woman is accurate and that the main reason as to why policies are established to govern our moves and decisions. In other terms, these challenges motivated me into further research into law which also made me convinced that law was indeed a true calling since it was through the profession that I had the opportunity to give back to the community as well as ensure that weak has a voice. Also, by providing that the guilty were incarcerated, and the justice was served in a manner that it did not promote oppression, discrimination, and racism.
Deciding on my career path has not been a straightforward path. But through the use of research and self-knowledge, I have come to understand that since I was a kid that law was not my true calling. It was not because of my brilliance but the community that raised me who realized that each had a purpose in the current world. Moreover, my ideal study, analysis, and synthesis of community service practitioner through the years provided me with the opportunity to deeper understand how the world operates, how to relate with others as well as my place in it. Moreover, such skill was not enough; therefore, pushing me into the ideal reason as to improve the current system since even with its perfection, daily lives are affected through the obligation of domestic public law. Even with my limited experience in the law, I find my skills gathered at the Boy's Home Volunteer job, Temasek Polytechnic Mentoring task, and the Yellow Ribbon Project volunteer. I came to understand change is the only constant element in life and to cope with change then human beings one needs to be satisfied with their ideal choice of lifestyle that includes their profession, relations, connections, and responsibilities; therefore, making me a perfect candidate to pursuing law.
Conclusion
To conclude, I believe that education in law is an essential tool for fulfilling my purpose in society. Ideally, I prefer attending the SUSS School of Law due to its unparalleled reputation in term of quality, faculty, and education system. Moreover, the law system at the school does not need to wait for their graduation timeline to receive admission and promote a positive impact on the community. Nonetheless, according to my research, these students require legal approached and pro-bono obligation; therefore, making me a strong applicant to commit to the local and global community. My ideal reason for applying at the Singapore University of Social Sciences is because the institute is dedicated to working adults.
Moreover, it accepts adults on pursuing higher education while they balance their career and their family's responsibility. None the less, the institute enhances much on Criminal and Family Law. Ideally, kindly consider my admission.
