Introduction
The case of a man found dead in his parents' home might have been engaged in scenarios resulting in his death. There are clues such as the presence of USD 700 in his pockets and a stamped ATM receipt confirming that he had earlier on withdrawn USD 40. This paper discusses three scenarios he might have been involved in, details two most likely scenarios he was likely involved in, and evidence that might be supporting the conclusion, such as where he might have been, the persons he was with and the activity he was doing.
The man might have been in a scenario of club fight, Robbery or a victim of First-degree murder. The club-fight scenario is ruled out by logic that most club fights never results in death. There are two possible scenarios in the case. He might have been injured in a crime scene, because of the presence of the money in his pants, or he might have been killed through malice and enticement.
Scenario 1
According to the parents, he left as early as 5 pm and returned in the morning, meaning that he might have been possible out robbing with friends. The scenario cannot be justified by the presence of the money in his pants because the fact that he is working can mean that he can possess such an amount of money.
Scenario 2
This is a case of homicide and could fall into three categories namely, murder, manslaughter, and justifiable homicide, according to the law. The most likely explanation of his death is that he was a victim of First-degree murder, and his killers might have planned to kill him beforehand. (Justice and Psychology,2020)According to the parent, the man arrived home at 5:30 the previous night and left for the club. This story from the parents is probably credible because, he made a withdrawal of as little as USD 40, which is enough to pay for liquor in a club, set up. He makes the withdrawal, an hour later which is a reasonable time for him to be at the nearest club after leaving home. The cash in his pocket might be a plan to cover up the murder because, if he involved in a theft that was serious enough to cause death, chances are that he could have died on the spot. The fact that he is working, might indicate that he already earns a living and would not find a reason to be involved in crime.
Explanation of the Evidence
Another evidence for explaining the scenario is the explanation that he was in a club, the night of his death. He was most likely with a company of friends, peers and even workmates. The killers might have used the chance to kill him. He must have been poisoned, such that he had a chance to come back home before the poison could take effect. There is a possibility of the killers carefully planting the money in his pocket when he was intoxicated, in an attempt to mislead the investigations.
In conclusion, the evidence, gathered, agree with the environmental; theory of homicide which explains the causes of homicide outside the individual, such as socialization and interactions that can fuel homicide intentions. There can be a weakness to the evidence present because there is no way to prove that he was actually in a club, or was poisoned. An autopsy is needed to determine the possibilities of the scenario.
