Achieving Women Empowerment and Gender Equality through Women and Gender Studies

Several studies have demonstrated the importance of women empowerment and gender equality in achieving sustainable development (Hankivsky, and Cormier, 2019). In the United States, several regions are still affected by the problems of women empowerment and gender inequality. Gender equality is an issue that touches on human rights and is a preconditional indicator of the existing imbalance in the United States. Through obtaining expertise in gender and women's studies, an individual can contribute towards reducing the gender disparity that is prevalent across various cultures in the United States. Without this, sustainable development is impossible to achieve. The United Nations women outlined the role of women in promotion in sustaining families and communities (Campbell, and Kean, 2016). It is an issue that has been an international concern, and tackling it requires accepting the gender imbalances and gender inequalities that exist in the U.S. today. Through continuously realizing and enlighten people about the importance of women empowerment in the society, it would be possible to achieve gender balance that will tackle one of the most concerning problems in the country, especially in the less-developed regions. Without gender equality, the country's development is retarded because women have a massive role to play in the overall development of society.

Addressing Social Injustices through Ethics Studies

Ethics studies focus on the existing human morality that can be achieved through defining concepts that make ideas right or wrong. Ethics also involves concepts such as vice, Justice, and National Crime. This is a field that is of great importance to the United States today as a country that has a history of social injustices and endless racism. The studies can crucially contribute towards achieving policies that are acceptable to every individual within the society to keep everyone on track, especially from the developmental perspective. Ethics can help solve some of the most common problems facing the Americans today as it involves various instructions and theories that can help shape different cultural identities. Various policies are meant to address the social injustices in the United States, and people do not understand them. These can be addressed through achieving expertise in ethical studies and educating the people about literacies in cultural identity. Various programs allow learners to concentrate on issues affecting particular groups. These can help to foster development and an understanding of different communities that makes one nation.

Developing an Understanding of Different Cultures through Expertise in American Studies

American studies help the learners examine the rich history of the United States. It also covers the history of different societies and different cultures in America. By incorporating the existing Literature with American history, it can help learners critically analyze various theories that define this great nation (Launius, and Hassel, 2018). One of the major problems in the United States today is the lack of understanding and accommodation of different cultures. Some people still struggle to integrate with others from different races or those who have different concepts. As a country that depends on diversity in its development and existence, having an understanding of different cultures can be one of the major solutions to the existing problem of accommodation. Through learning American studies, students can learn about the civilization and the struggles that the forefathers went through to ensure that the country is where it is today. This will improve their understanding of the social injustices that different people went through before achieving the freedom that many people enjoy today. It also helps people to accommodate others from different cultures to learn about other cultures and to develop a united nation.

Promoting Social Acceptance in Queer Studies

Queer studies are an expertise that deals with the existing social diversities, sexuality studies, and the study of the LGBT groups as well as the relationship between sexual orientations. The United States today is surrounded by various issues involving gay rights, transgender, lesbians' rights, and continuous protests by the LGBT groups (Campbell, and Kean, 2016). These are problems that are mainly caused by the lack of understanding of these social issues. By ensuring that the majority of the Citizens understand the differences in sexual preferences, such problems about acceptance can be solved. Social integration is key to sustainable development, and transforming people's understanding through understanding different groups can make it easier to solve this problem. Gay protests and LGBT issues arise because of a lack of understanding of human sexuality and the fact that people are afraid to talk about such sensitive issues (Hankivsky, and Cormier, 2019). By continuously promoting inside studies, it would be easier to integrate sexual diversities into public opinions. Gay rights and gender dysphoria can easily be addressed by openly accepting the existence of these diversities and making the public aware of such rights. These are issues that have hindered the development of the United States and has prevented people from integrating peacefully. For a long time, the gay community has lived in isolation as other people who identify with different sexual orientations have refused to accept them. It is, therefore, an important concept that can be crucial towards developing unity in our nation.

Using Peace Studies to Develop Conflict Resolution Strategies

Peace studies is a discipline that allows experts in the field to develop structures applicable in analyzing and improving the structural mechanism of solving solutions. It allows the learners to understand the different nature of human problems and how to find resolutions to serious human conditions. In the United States, several people have personal and interpersonal problems. People are killing each other in slams presenting the development and unity in the country. Through studying peace and the overall peaceful resolutions, it becomes easier to have professionals that understand the best methods of achieving peace. Various people cannot withstand others because they cannot find peace (Campbell, and Kean, 2016). There have ill-feelings because of historical injustices against them. For instance, some families cannot accept offers or suggestions from others from different races because they have the problem of the past racial inequalities. Through having an expert who understands the nature of these problems, it can help in finding resolutions for these ill feelings that people have against others. American citizens must accommodate others and avoid violence. Peace can also be applied to stop violence and aggression during protests. Such activities lead to injuries to people and waste of resources that could be used to develop the country. Hence, promoting peace studies is one of the steps towards achieving unity and peaceful understanding between different members of society.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the United States is a diverse society. It is a society that has, for a long time, benefited from the diversity of people from different cultures. However, it is facing numerous problems from various groups who fail to understand or to recognize others. This is why it is vital to have individuals who understand these problems. Expertise obtained from American Studies, Women & Gender Studies, Ethnic Studies, Queer Studies, and Peace Studies help solve some of the problems we are experiencing in the U.S. today as these experts will help others understand the importance of peaceful coexistence and accepting diversities. Gender studies will help reduce the problem of gender inequalities as Queer Studies will help many citizens accept people with diverse sexual preferences. These are some of the issues that present the nation from achieving its potential.
