There have occurred many changes in our society. In the past, married women stayed at home (homemakers) and only relied on the husband's source of income. For this reason, women stayed in their marriage; however, how abusive or harmful it was. In the present, the changes in culture now allow women to work. For this reason, women in abusive marriages filed divorces since they can work and be self-independent.

In the past, the main aim of marriage was to raise a family. However, throughout the years, the definition of marriage has changed, and people now look at weddings differently. In the past, the unity founded on love, intimacy, and commitment; this resulted in successful marriages. Nowadays, people marry because they want to do what others are doing. Some marry because of material lust, and others marry just for pleasure. For these reasons, marriage nowadays lacks love, honesty, faithfulness, commitment, and understanding (Chang & Barrett, 2009). Couples hurry into marriage, and after a few years, they get fade up, and they find divorce the best option instead of talking and reconciling.

Additionally, lack of proper communication causes emotional isolation, neglect, and sexual problems forcing couples to seek sexual satisfaction outside marriage. If couples don't communicate correctly, it will be challenging to address significant issues they are facing. Ignored aspects pile up, making on feel suffocated and seek to stay alone, leading to separation.

Poor parenting has also contributed to this increase in the divorce rate. In the past, boys and girls were taught what is expected of them in marriage. They were taught responsibilities as they grew up, which made them responsible (Acred, 2018). Nowadays, there is poor parenting. Children are left alone; you find parents are busy working while children have issues that are left unsolved. Children grow up without knowing their responsibilities and what is expected of them when it comes to marriage. They end up in marriages lacking respect for one another.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I foresee that people will resort to being lonely or adopting children in the coming days rather than getting married and raising their own. The rate at which people get married will decrease, and the changes occurring in technology where women can conceive scientifically will make this possible. It is high time people get taught on the importance of marriages based on biblical grounds.
