As a governor, I would introduce special criteria for making the cuts in the budget in various departments. Usually, it is the role of the governor to offer support to crucial activates where monetary funding is essential. Instead of cutting down the budget for the activities in various sectors, an evaluation may assist in determining the area where financial cut down can be implemented. For instance, the cut down of budget in a civil action, which is meant to conduct a new project.
Normally, cutting down costs has several effects on various departments. According to McNichol and Waxman (2017), cutting down costs has a negative effect, which impacts the evolution of the economy. Therefore, before the management implements any cut-down plan, evaluation should be conducted to determine the level and future effects. In most cases, the cut down trigger loss, especially on political support, which may trigger more issues (Crum, n.d). The short and long term issues may be associated with the loss of support on the department that will experience the cut-down. Additionally, cut downs may reduce the morale of the employees since they will experience a financial shortage, thus reducing their motivation.
Based on my perception, cuts have more negative effects as compared to positive. Establishing cuts in an organization may trigger more issues that may hinder the operations. As a way of improving organizational performance, I would establish management changes. The technique may introduce new ways of conducting activities, thus minimizing unnecessary costs.
In the health care environment, budget cut triggers more issues, which are brought by lack of enough capital to financial activities. Health care has a lot of programs that rely on financial aid (Deming & Walters, 2018). Therefore, if the institution experience a budget cut, it may fail to finance all there programs creating health issues. Additionally, the cost of health care has gone up; hence, exercising budget cuts may hinder health care from attaining quality services.
In an organization, capital expenditure is a key aspect that ensures continuation. Usually, capital expenditure is the money used by a firm to get and maintain fixed assets such as a building. Due to wear and aging, replacing and maintaining is a crucial aspect that ensures continuous performance (Shi, 2016). In health care, structures such as building are key factors that must be maintained. Therefore, management cannot establish a cut on capital expenditure since health care will automatically fail to offer the services.
Based on the agency of the sector, $1 million may be cut from the governor's office. The governor's office is not as precious as other sectors, such as education and health care. Therefore, it could be unfair if critical departments are subjected to a budget cut. Hence, it would be hard for the government to show its concern to citizens.
After cut, the government should create a platform that brings the community closer. The aspect will act as a marketing strategy, thus improving program performance. In health care, professional value is a key aspect that nurses are required to maintain (Cleeren, Lamey, Meyer, & De Ruyter, 2016). Usually, professional values assist nurses in understanding action, skills, and motives that they are supposed to deploy when dealing with a patient. In this case, it is crucial for a nurse to maintain professional value. The action is an illustration of how a nurse is loyal to the field and ready to maintain the code of ethics.
