Introduction
Intellectual Sense of justice refers to the character of showing fairness in every situation people face every day. This is one among the fair-minded qualities that I depict well in my daily life. I believe that everyone in the society is equal to the person, although we might have different desires and needs. I handle different situations by trying my best to see and make choices that are fair enough for everyone involved in a certain issue. I'm always dissatisfied when I look at injustice in the society, and I try to do the little I can to mitigate it (Celis & Childs, 2018).
However, the qualities of intellectual courage and intellectual perseverance seem to be in low degree in me, and I need to improve on them. Intellectual Courage is the ability to stand up and face the difficulties that come my way. Intellectual Perseverance defines the ability to keep pushing hard to overcome the challenges in life despite the obstacles that block the way. Having a low degree of these qualities have made it difficult for me to uphold my strong quality of sense of justice. However, following simple steps, I can improve on the conditions (Paul & Elder, 2013).
Step one: I'm faced with the challenge of stepping up to be courageous and have persevered. Without these qualities holding up, I find myself so afraid to confront issues, and I give up quickly on the things that I wish to achieve. Fear, most of the unknown, surpasses the essential qualities (Celis & Childs, 2018).
Step two: in handling the issue, I need to understand the consequences of letting fear rule me, analyse all my concerns, embrace them and then do my best to release them from me. Alternatively, I can always find someone courageous and persevere to let know the things I fear and let them guide me through acquiring these qualities.
Step three: The first choice has the advantage in that it gives a chance for personal evaluation hence understanding myself better. Also, it is the best way of acquiring courage and perseverance. However, it can get me stuck in one position for a long time if I don't have the strength to do the things I laid down to do towards being courageous and perseverance. The latter decision has the advantage of letting me see how another person acts in courage and directly learn from them. Nevertheless, the choice makes it possible to rise again once I fall, because I have someone to guide me. It has the disadvantage of leaving me dependent on the person, and I might fall back to being of low courage or low persistence when they get out of the picture (Paul & Elder, 2013).
Step four: the best way to resolve the issue is to have the first choice as my major point of reference and the second choice as the minor. Being courageous and perseverance takes me to achieve, but I will always need someone else's help from time to time when it gets very rough.
Step five: in implementing this method, I need to do an in-deep search of my fears and the see the advantages and disadvantages of keeping or letting them go. Next, I identify a reliable person who can keep me encouraged throughout, mostly someone way older than me. Finally, I can learn the advantage of taking necessary risks in the process of building up to be courageous and perseverance (Celis & Childs, 2018).
