Expressionism
Post-Impressionism period played an important role in shaping the expressionism artistic designs that have impacted significantly on modern art designs. This period started in the early 20th century and can be seen as a general painting that aimed at expressing personal interpretation of an object or a scene, as opposed to demonstrating its true-life features (Beil & Dillmann, 2011). Therefore, the aesthetic designs were characterized by energetic brushwork, intense colors, impastoed paint, and bold lines. Therefore, this period meant that art was to be developed by the artist hence its assessment would be more based on the artist's feelings and understanding of the composition. Such artists mainly employed swaying and swirling in the depiction of their subjects. Through this, the techniques could be useful in conveying turgid emotional states, anxieties, and feelings in the modern world.
Impact of Contemporary Aesthetic Principles in Commercial Design
The concept of the artwork, graphic design, and aesthetics in public architecture has been practiced since the olden days. However, contemporary aesthetic principles have been demonstrated in modern commercial designs for beauty and attraction to customers (Oladumiye & Tolulope, 2015). In this regard, design is no longer restricted to domains of places of worship like temples, shrines, and palaces, but is now used in creating amenable living areas. In the manufacturing industry, commercial producers develop product specifications taking care of its aesthetics to ensure uniqueness. Graphic designers are evidenced in many demonstrations like films, corporate websites, advertisements, and road signs among many other places. In this regard, contemporary aesthetics have become important in design industry which has grown and is integrated into many areas (Oladumiye & Tolulope, 2015). In architectural designs, artistic works have gained massive popularity not only in commercial or public architectural works but also in private dwelling areas. Therefore, contemporary aesthetic principles have significantly transformed contemporary design in industries and overall lives.
Conclusion
The analysis has demonstrated that artistic designs have been important since the beginning of humankind. However, the traditional artistic designs employed different aesthetic aesthetics in the visual arts compared to modern artworks. In this regard, various transformations have taken place. This study analyzed the uniqueness in the artworks during the baroque period that started in the late 17th century to the modern expressionism period that started in the early 20th century. From the analysis, it is evident that the type of artworks changed, the aesthetics changed, and the purpose of artworks changed. In modern commercial representations, artworks are common not only in public places but also in private residences. Therefore, the earlier aesthetics influenced modern artworks and, hence, their purpose.
