Ever landed on a not so familiar foreign land and wondered I wish I could talk to people in their regional dialect not only to make the life easier but also explore the cultural in depth of the place? All my life, I have often sought to leverage learning and knowledge to solving the problems in my immediate environment. furthermore, I have sought to always invest in ways to increase my knowledge and applying it amicably in the environments I have been. I must admit that the undergraduate course I took, Bachelor of Engineering In Information Science & Engineering, was comprehensive and complete, enabling me to gain fundamental theoretical, analytical, and practical skills relevant for today's marketplace. I undertook various projects that cemented the knowledge and expertise gained. My first Bubble Project emerged out of my personal experience when I was equally excited and perplexed about learning new regional languages. I developed an Application that converted regional language (Kannada to English) - English to Express under Prof. Dr Viraj (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign Alumni).
Since then I have been constantly involved in the solving real world and Industry problems using my technical skills in the form of Mini Projects. From solving real world problem to being amazed by the Neural Art Styling, the voracious researcher inside me helped me complete several mini projects in the domain, both during my time as an undergraduate and after that. I have previously worked in a non-profit organization called Philanthrobox (a start-up) as an Intern (Application Developer) for three months where I collaborated on creating a web application and a mobile application. I was also a member of IET (Institute of Engineering and Technology for which I participated in several IET elections and organized events like PATW (Present Around the world) around my campus.
PATW is a well-established competition with several heats designed to encourage young engineers and technicians, to develop their presentation skills in a fun and friendly environment. Being able to communicate in a confident and efficient manner which is essential to reach both personal and career goals. As an undergraduate, my final year project was on data mining-an algorithm for solving the well-known- real world problem related to a recommender system. The recommender system for restaurants was centered on the need to create a system for Yelp users and sought to address real-world challenges faced by travelers and other groups of people.
Since 2018, I have worked with General Appliances as an Associate System Analyst/Administrator where I was tasked with leveraging multiple technologies to realize the company's set objectives. During my time with the company, I received the Copper Award after winning a Hackathon during my induction period. The award was a recognition of my ability to create automated test portfolios within the OUR ServiceNow program. I was an instrumental part of the Entertainment and Well Within Team.
This Master of Science Program is critical and fundamental to me in many ways. Firstly, it will be a validation of my previously gained capabilities and knowledge as stated above and which I have applied in many dimensions of my career and education life. Secondly, the program will be fundamental in increasing my skills and knowledge, both technically and non-technically, which will enable me to contribute more effectively to my world. An opportunity to take this program will quench my thirst for knowledge, and will be a critical inclusion in my professional life.
