Introduction
There is a considerable number of still artists. Picasso and van Gogh are outstanding examples. The diverse artistical paths taken by Picasso and van Gogh elucidate their differences. The essay illustrates the two authors differences based on the diverse mediums they exploit in their artistical works.
The Comparison between the Artists
Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh had shared some significant similarities, and a distinctive painting style is an excellent example. They became generous in the world of art, and this is why their paintings could sell tens of millions of dollars. Even so, there are significant differences that arose. For instance, while Pablo Picasso focused and specialized in the use of colors in the painting, van Gogh specialized in oil painting. In this part, the two artists indicate diversity in the mediums they exploit in their works (Petrosino et al. 203). Also, while van Gogh was a colorist, Picasso focused on the value-based paintings. In this dimension, while the former concentrated on curves, the latter dwelled on straight lines.
The Significance of the Medium to the Final Piece
While van Gogh focused on oil painting, Picasso dwelled on the use of dull colors (Petrosino et al. 204). The medium, therefore, is of great significance. Arguably, van Gogh's brightly colored oil paintings will attract the attention of individuals. The converse of this is expected in Picasso's side. Even so, the latter managed to capture his audience. In this part, Picasso's medium of works worked for him, and this is attributed to the fact that he captured the audience's attention despite that fact that his paintings were somewhat dull.
The Feeling of Compelling Aspect of Their Work
The most compelling aspect between the two artists is their creativity. Various reasons account for this. For instance, both artists can draw simplified shapes. Also, they exploit drawings to extensively communicate their points (Petrosino et al. 207)Conclusion
Van Gogh and Picasso remain iconic artists. The two artists pursued different artistical paths. As such, the mediums they used worked significantly for them. Therefore, while Picasso dwelled on color painting, van Gogh relied on oil painting. The dull color painting perfectly worked for Picasso since he could capture the audience's attention.
