Yuval Noah has written an interesting article that gives a picture of what the year 2050 might affect humankind's race. Technology is evolving and it is taking the center stage of everything humans are involved, by 2050, there might even be room for jobs in factories due to the advanced development of artificial intelligence. One quote that I like from the article is "as the pace for change augments, the very meaning of being human is likely to change and physical and cognitive structures will melt" (Harari, 2018). For example, there will be so much information at the disposal of children that they will be no need to have teachers teach them in the classroom. Technological aspects of Video conferencing will give teachers the ease to deliver the curriculum or content online or even create video tutorials for students to refer to them before taking an online examination. My thoughts are by 2050, education will be completely revolutionized and it will be more convenient to access any information or course.
In the job sector, I closely resonate with the argument of Yuval Noah that by 2050 we will millions of people will be rendered jobless by advancement in technology and the need for every company to implement R&D techniques to improve the quality of their products. The above statement closely explains the thought alluded by Noah that the pace of technological change will make the physical and cognitive structures to melt. The reason is those who will have not familiarized themselves with data analytic basic and Information Technology processes will be rendered vague (Harari, 2018). For example, by 2020, most companies have automated their HR and Supply chain systems, and it means the workforce to be brought on board should have the background knowledge on IT and how it affects their profession to stay relevant in the profession (Harari, 2018). To some extent, some of these jobs will not be there by 2050 since almost everything will be automated, and the only opportunities that might be there are for those people who will have advanced knowledge on computer animation, data analytics, and software and Hardware mechanics (Harari, 2018).
The rate of death of people as a result of a sedentary lifestyle and poor eating habits will also increase. In 2019, approximately 75% of people in the U.S. witnessed a reduced life span as a result of embracing the western life and abandoning traditional meals, and physical activities (Harari, 2018). If the statistics were pretty much high as of last year, then the human race is braced for even shocking statistics by 2045 (Harari, 2018).
Conclusion
In conclusion, the tendency of people eating processed meat, and junk foods with a lot of fat will contribute to shortening their life span even further, and it is not a wonder to see the life expectancy index in males decline to 55 years and for women to 60 years by 2045 (Harari, 2018). The moral take from this article is that there is a need for humans to embark on eating traditional meals like vegetables directly from the farm instead of those being grown in the greenhouse using chemicals that bring diseases such as cancer. Engaging in physical exercises will also solve this problem.
