Women’s health focuses on the well-being of women. Since women are different from men, there are certain diseases and conditions that women go through which does not affect men, with such issues being on the rise, women are more vulnerable to many diseases than men. Women’s health is, therefore, concern in many parts of the world. Women are also susceptible to conditions such as HIV/AIDS and STDs compared to men. Other issues that women’s health incorporates are reproductive health. Compared to men, women reproductive system is much different and requires much attention. Issues such as pregnancy and family planning are among the crucial things incorporated in the reproductive health of women. As a student nurse, I would like to volunteer in my community here in Arizona to help women to deal with their health.
Assisting women in the community on matters concerning their health has always been my passion. Many women suffer significantly from health issues that go unnoticed. For instance, women are much vulnerable to many diseases compared to men. As a student nurse in Arizona, being part of an organization that assists women will be a fulfillment because it has always been my passion to help. Issues such as family planning and the use of contraceptives are among the health issues that concern women. Many women are worried about their health and which types of contraceptives they may use. Some of them require a specialist to assist them in these matters (World Health Organization). Being a volunteer in the community and supporting women, both young and old, on issues of contraceptives is essential and helps women and girls to take care of their bodies. With knowledge of contraceptives and pregnancy, I can assist many women and girls in understanding their bodies. In Arizona, several organizations help in helping women with their health.
Assisting women in the community also makes it possible for the community to have fewer diseases that may affect women. For instance, women in many countries are exposed to different sociocultural factors that prevent them from benefiting from quality health services. Having people like midwives to assist women in their health makes it much easier for them to get quality healthcare services. Although Arizona does not have a high infant mortality rate, supporting women in their health when they are pregnant helps to reduce infant mortality in the community. Tucson is known to have poor health services as a nurse; my work in the city will ensure that women will have quality healthcare. Pregnant women will have the privilege since I am a midwife. They will live a much easier life since i will help many of them with their health issues. I will assist during pregnancy and also postpartum.
Conclusion
In conclusion, as a nurse, I will assist different women in the community to have a much better life. In matters concerning pregnancy and reproductive health, I will make sure that I give the best since this is the place where many women get affected. As a student nurse who is willing to work with the community, I will make sure that pregnant women and those who use contraceptives get information about their health. It will be easier to reduce infant mortality in Tucson if the community comes together to help women.
