Edward Memorial Zoological Garden is one of nature's most beautiful and peaceful sceneries on the planet. Our trip to the garden took almost two hours. When we arrived at the gate, it was past noon, and we realized there were two species of monkeys regarded to belong to unique types. Sitting closer to the boundaries were school children giving these monkeys some bananas. We were told that these individual apes are called Gorillas, and they were walking like men to take foodstuffs. Their chattering was more or less similar to the voices of a man. They were imitating some of the actions we were doing like jumping and peeling a banana and some walk holding a stick with their hands. We were very interested in interacting with them in fact according to the history of evolution; gorillas and chimpanzee are the nearest relations of man within the evolution hierarchy.

On the right side, a few steps ahead we saw several sections of birds. They were confined in a large enclosure, and within it, there were small trees and a tank and some few water cans. The bird cages that were surrounded by trees and this aspect made the scene more natural. Some cages were hanging on tree branches while others were placed on the ground. Numerous types of birds stayed confined in this compound and their multicolored wings, as well as dissimilar marks, were beautiful. Swimming birds, like cranes and ducks, swarm around the water tanks as others swam on the cold waters flowing from the nearby forest into the ponds. As the sun shone over the grills of the cages, the birds' feathers shone from the inside revealing their true beauty. I took many pictures with the animals with some of my friends and other zoo visitors that we met there. We came across some ostriches that had long red necks with beautiful white feathers around their body. Their necks could be extended for a long distance like a spring.

On to the left side, we were faced with colossal confinement surrounded by a large and robust metal gate. The big cage had two big lions that their sight was very scaring. Apart from two lions, some cabs were playing around them, I felt like touching them, but they were scary as well. Other chambers that were close to them had panthers and tigers. We had a rare opportunity to feed some of them after the zoo guards authorized us. They showed us how to supply them with goat meat and chicken. The animals were thrown in the cages alive as they faced the wrath of the lion and the tigers.

We walked up and down. A broad canal ran parallel to the footpath. Beyond the canal, there were beautiful trees that grew in it. When looked at a distance the place appeared to be an abandoned area, but as we came closer to the scene and observed more keenly, we found a big rhino at a further distance walking like it owned the place. A tour guide was telling us that rhinos have a tough skin and it is mostly used to make shields. We were surprised due to its unique features. However, it was a scaring animal that we have never come across. We learned a lot of things within Edward Garden Zoo. One of the intriguing subjects we observed was the feeding organization for diverse animals. The animal confinement authority provides the best available diet to confined animals. Herbivores were left to graze on grassy fields; carnivorous were given meat and birds were provided with grains. The animals kept in as naturally as possible. However, some animals like lions are great freedom lovers, and since they are confined, they do not enjoy their liberty.

Another most intriguing aspect of its location is that the zoo borders some beautiful landscapes that include a lakeside beach. It is pristine white shoreline which is about a mile long. The white course sand never fails to be a minefield of corals and pastels, with a collection of other multicolored seashells as well as the beautiful mound sand of white silk. The clear vast ocean that glistens in the sun as it meets the horizon, the breeze of the waters, fresh air and the beautiful nature of the scenery makes it an extraordinary place. Meals are prepared in beach hotels within the vicinity, and they are resting points for many people who visit the zoo and the beach. We could not stand the sweet aroma that rose our appetite; therefore, we enjoyed a delicious meal at one of the beach hotels before going back to the garden.

The scene was so naturally attractive that we did not manage to explore the entire garden before night came. We were contented with what we saw and swore to revisit the zoo in the future. We had spent more than five hours in the zoo, and it was time to go home. I was grateful to my friends and above all the knowledge that I had gained from the zoo, and I couldn't forget the delicacies at the beach hotel. It was a day well spent as we anticipated revisiting the zoo.
