Stories are farfetched since the beginning of civilization. There is an excellent essence for the author or narrator of the story to understand that the audience not only needs to be shown on what to focus on but also there is need to shine the light to the audience. The angle at which the audience picks and evaluates the storyline serves a crucial point to the conclusion and support of the artwork. Issues are the elements that help in filtering through the direction where the events reveal. Therefore, one can conclude that the problems serve the audience with a torch, which prompts them to evaluate whatever they see through the story and using a given scale.
Storytelling is an essential tool for generations to engage different groups of people, especially on complex issues within society and in environmental matters. The device becomes necessary as there can be ways in which the community can have a behavioral change or even trigger a common belief. People are designed in a way that stories would make a point to stick in mind, unlike serving them understandable information. When stories are served right and are outstanding, they have an incredible ability to sieve divisive issues and counterarguing ideas. Again, not to forget, when a magnificent story carries people, they tend to recall a significant number of events in the story and empathize with the happenings. From the result, it becomes easy for the affiliates to be influenced by future beliefs on other accounts and matters.
There are complexities in the social sectors, and related problems are irresistible despite the involved people putting endless efforts. Some challenges are in Climate changes, reforms in criminal justice, sexual molestation, racial injustices, equality in the administration of health services, and quality of education, naming just a few. These problems intertwined. They result from interconnections with the systems and individuals in the society, policies from institutions and their practices, and norms from traditions and ways of doing things and thinking. Many are the times we share talks on how we can address the issues in which are also known as systems-level ways of thoughts. The problems within the society are coated resolution terms such as equity and justice while as they are not resolved. The milestone lies here because there are gaps, and thus people try fixing their assumed though bias thoughts regarding the word’s meanings. Unfortunately, no one has been capacitated to taking action because of data points or even a great graph.
Some issues are never intentional, especially when planning to tell or write a story. People will plan on telling a great story and forget to input enough conflicts. No one would like to be notified of what they know repetitively. For instance, an average person’s schedule on a typical day would be similar in most people. When there is no conflict, it makes it dull and will prompt the audience to lose interest quickly. This now calls for organizations to come up with compelling stories that will impact people thought differently but towards a direction of thought. The shared stories shape people to think about the complexity of the issues they are in pursuit of addressing. The tactic works efficiently and effectively to people who struggle to comprehend a problem such as gender bias in the society or inaccessibility to healthcare systems or care as a result of the set system. Now that calls for one to study the science of telling stories to overcome psychological barriers and thus encourage change in behavior and beliefs.
