The relationship between science and religion has been a continued topic of debate in both theology and philosophy since the 1960s. The studies try to understand the extent of compatibility between the two fields. Are beliefs by theologies conducive, or do they pose inevitable obstacles to scientists? This analysis aims to answer that and other queries that arise when the debate gets brought up. The study gets thus focused on providing the inter-relationships that exist between science denial and religious affiliation.

To begin with, a clear understanding of the two terms, “religion” and “science” needs to be clarified to spot their inter-relationship. On the one hand, religion concentrates on the spiritual world, whereas science focuses on the physical world. The knowledge in most religions emanates from a supernatural being, which is God. Religion’s aspects cannot physically be tested or proven as being true. For instance, religion fails to prove man’s creation story since there is no evidence that God created the man. In science, knowledge gets obtained experimentally, and scientists can be able to prove how man evolved to what he is now. Experiments get designed to prove an observation to which the conclusion of the outcome gets made.

Science thus tries to appreciate nature by formulating explanations for processes and structures. For instance, the chemical composition of a fossil is taken and tested to determine its origin. Both the religion and science interrelate in that they are all trying to explain the unknown reality, although the methods applied are different. Science makes use of natural aspects while religion the supernatural. For instance, both try to explain man's evolution in various ways.

On the one hand, science uses evolution theories that get accompanied by practical laboratory experiments to explain man's origin. In contrast, religion applies supernatural methods to illustrate how man came into existence. According to a chart formulated by a biology evolutionist, Josh Rosenau, he tried to prove the relationship that exists between religion and science by collecting the religious member's views on the matter to do with the evolution of man and their perception of the stricter regulations and environmental laws (Chris, 2015). Most of the members got found to support evolution concepts like the Buddhists. However, a good number of them also got found to support environmental laws and regulations. Thus, the outcome of his research proved that both religion and science correlate to some extent since religions got found to have trust in science too.

Religion bases their facts on faith and science in reasoning. Despite science having a strong objection of the supernatural powers, there are still underlying phenomenon of meta bodies present in science that tries to conform with the existence of them. For the scientists to prove that a particular theory is valid, they must first believe in themselves, which in other words, they must have faith. Therefore, reasoning and faith tend to work hand in hand. Religion thus provides facts which then science tries to prove. Science eliminates any findings from religion that cannot be scientifically proven. According to the Christianity version, God revealed Himself to the people through nature. He performed natural miracles that people could see but applied supernatural powers to perform miracles. Jesus got also revealed to us via nature. All these instances prove that science and religion inter-relates and depend on each other.

Conclusion

From the aforementioned above, it is evident that religion and science have much in common. Science alone cannot tackle and give solution to all social problems; thus, the two plays a significant role in society. The two apply two distinct methods, therefore should be used to supplement each other. In this era of COVID-19, most religious organizations are encouraging their members to attend fellowships since they have faith in God's supernatural powers to heal and protect them. Science has failed to come up with any medicine for the cure of COVID-19 since man's intellect is not from their research but God. The government has no power to prevent the fellowships from happening since they have nothing to present as an assurance that they are safe by staying indoors. They believe that they should seek God to give them ideas that they can now apply science to process them.
