Introduction

In recent years, it has been argued that the immigrants take away jobs from the local population, and they have been blamed for the country's woes, especially in the United States during economic hardship. For instance, in the United States, many people, including senior government officers, have made several sentiments based on the anti-immigrants, especially in the parts of the country where a high population of immigrants are hosted. Similarly, a recent survey based on public opinion revealed that people could not differentiate between the undocumented and legal immigrants; therefore, the people believe that the undocumented immigrants are the reason for unemployment and their disfavor. More significantly, the truth of the matter is that immigrants do not import the problems faced in the United States. Notably, a survey by the American Immigration Institute found that immigrants always have favorable effects on the American economy. Many studies have also indicated that immigrants in the United States do not have an adverse impact on employment opportunities and the earning of the people of America.

Effects of Immigrants on the Local Labor Market

Concerning the effect on the local labor market, the immigrants in the United States increases the demand for labor, and they increase the demand for products to trigger more supply of industrial products, thereby enhancing economic growth. For instance, research by Richard Vedder based on immigration and unemployment revealed that the increased rate of foreign-born people has led to a low rate of unemployment in the United States. Additionally, the immigrants' increases total production, as well as highly productive labor demand which also encourages the formation of capital through savings. Again the immigrants contribute billions of dollars to the economy based on the taxes, and by taking the low-wage job opportunities which are ignored by the local people, as well as through promoting investments and creation of more employment opportunities for the country.

Removing Immigrants from a Destination Country

Immigrants should not be removed from the country of destination. The concept is based on the facts behind the significant role played by the immigrants in contributing fundamentally to the economic growth of the nation. The immigrants have been viewed as one of the important factors that play a role in strengthening the economy. For instance, a report by the Pew Research Center demonstrated that the majority of the respondents on the destination of the immigrants suggested that the immigrants are of great benefit to the nation but not a burden to the economic growth. Such opinions were collected from major economies of the World, including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia and the United States. Focusing on the tremendous benefits that the immigrants provide to the economy including their contribution to the National Income through taxes and their contribution in the labor market, it would be of a great challenge to remove the immigrants from their destination country.

To Welcome Immigrants Unconditionally

More imperatively, the immigrants should be accepted unconditionally in the destination country as a replica of their unconditional benefit they bring to trigger economic growth in the destination country. More understandably, when the immigrants come to the country, they increase the population of the destination country, and an increase in population means an increase in the number of customers depending on the local goods and services, thereby increasing the market demand and supply in the destination country. More market demand and supply leads to the expansion of industries which create more employment opportunities, especially for the local people. Additionally, the immigrants also come with diversified talents, and some are even more educated. All that is a positive impact on economic growth, hence the immigrants should be welcome unconditionally in the countries of destination.

A large Number of Refugees in Japan

Japan should consider taking a large number of refugees compared to the number it is taking currents which is far much below the refugees taken by the G7 peers in the World. Despite Japan being among the top three economies in the World, the country has taken a little number of refugees which is even less than 100 people in the last few years. For instance, in 2013, Japan only approved the application of only six people, in 2016 on 28 refugees were approved, and the total number of applicants was 10901 people. In 2017, the number of applicants increased up to 19000, but Japan only accepted 20 refugees in the country. The country should refrain from its perpetual behavior of approving only a small number of refugees every year because the economy if large enough to sustain the vulnerable and the victimized refugees from other countries, as what is done by its peers in the G7.

Observably, the small number of refugees recorded every year in Japan shows that the country is among the least welcoming nations for the refugees. Approximately, there should be a huge number of refugees, especially a dozen numbers who are protected by the Japanese government each year. More imperatively, Japan is a geographically remote nation which needs applicants to submit their applications individually, but a good number of refugees migrants from African and the Middle East who faces financial challenges to seek for refuge. The main challenge encounter by refuge seekers in Japan include lack of tourist visa for travelling to Japan, the diplomats also must receive an invitation from the United Nations, and other documents such as bank statement and passports among other documents which is not easy for the refugees to get.

How Immigration Has Been Used in Politics

Immigration has been perceived as a significant political issue, especially in Western Europe in the last decade. Notably, Issues including electoral change, an act of violence, introduction of a new political party, as well as new associations, has been rampant in the European countries. There have never been any political aspects that can be pursued in European countries without the incorporation of the concept of immigration. More significantly, in Western Europe, a lot of issues have been in the display, including political parties for anti-immigration that increased the political power to modify political forces. The issue of immigration has influenced the way governments to execute its policies in trying to focus on challenges facing understanding in the European countries.

For instance, in the United Kingdom, where a referendum was conducted in 2016, the result indicated that 48% voted not to leave the European Union and 52% of people voted to leave. The result of the referendum led to a sudden decrease in the value of the pound, which also triggered a lot of speculations. The way people vote is not affected by the decision of the rational decision of the people, and issues such as immigration was a minor factor to influence voting. The voting pattern is mainly influenced by attitudes and threats, as well as other related factors and events. More imperatively, immigration was the major focus for the campaigns in the approach to the referendum. Theresa May had the promise to lower the number of immigrants, and by the time of the referendum, the number of immigrants recorded 320000, and most of them came from outside Europe. Despite immigration causing a burden on housing and other services, it positively contributed to the economy of the United Kingdom.
