Introduction
Human trafficking refers to the illegal trade of human beings by others for various reasons, which include forced labor, commercial sexual exploitation by the trafficker, and other third parties as well as for sexual slavery. This has continued to become a contemporary problem over many years, and efforts to curb it have been hard. So many people have been affected by this issue with others being forced into an unwanted marriage, being sold for extraction of their organs and tissues, and a good example is the removal of ova and the issue of surrogacy. This is an issue that matters in the world today;
The Law Against Human Trafficking
According to the provisions of the law, human trafficking is an abuse of human rights and is both global and domestic crime. There are thousands of cases of people being trafficked within their countries and others being taken to other countries far from theirs to be used for the trafficking reasons stated above (Blom, 2020). These thousands of people include women, men, and children of all ages because the reasons for trafficking vary depending on the needs of the trafficker.
This is termed as a crime in the international and domestic laws as the people are forced into various actions without their compliance. The traffickers sell them to other people for their gains. The worst about this issue of human trafficking is that the trafficked persons end up being tortured and killed after serving the purpose which the traffickers wanted them to serve (Jong, 2019). So many people lose their loved ones to trafficking, and they never see them for the rest of their lives since they serve permanent forced labor and sexual slavery in the hands of the traffickers.
A lot of quests have been raised about the measures which are being put in place by the local nations and the world to protect the people against this vice of human trafficking and its associated negative impacts. As of late, it has been hard to control this problem since tracking the actions of the traffickers is not easy. Most of the trafficking takes place through contradictory situations in which the security agencies cannot identify the instances (Blom, 2020). Thus reports are only made when the trafficking has taken place, and the whereabouts of the trafficked individuals are not known. Therefore, as much the police and other security firms try through the instructions of the government to control this crime, it is a long process to have it eradicated among the nations of the world.
How to Solve the ProblemThe best way that would help to deal with this problem of human trafficking facing all the people in the world would be the creation of awareness and educating the people about the tricks used by traffickers to carry out the crime (Shelley, 2010). This will keep them aware when such things are about to happen to them, and they will respond accordingly as compared to when they have no information of this. Besides, any traffickers who are caught involving in the crime should be imprisoned and punished as per the law and be forced to give reports of other traffickers they know.
Conclusion
Human trafficking has affected the lives of the people in negative ways, with so many people living without their relatives who fall victim to this issue. Every individual has got a responsibility to protect themselves and other people even as the governments of various countries do their best to make sure that the issue is managed effectively in cases of it reduced.
