A glider is an engineless aircraft which when towed aloft or a catapult launches it glides. It can be made from any material, ranging from plastic, wood and paper. Gliders usually have three main parts which comprise of the fuselage, the wing and the tail (Thomson, 2016). The fuselage forms the main boy, where the person or the user sits. The fuselage is similar to the structure that holds the crew, passenger and cargo on a regular aeroplane. At the centre of the fuselage is attached to the wings of the aircraft. The sides are fitted into the fuselage which is responsible for flying. They are curved in such a way that when propelled, the air below and up becomes different and thus generating a lift which would make the glider move. The tail is responsible for the balancing of the aircraft. The rear has two horizontal stabilizers and a vertical one. The from most of the glider is called the nose.
There are main four aerodynamic forces which act on the aeroplane. The effects are thrust, drag, lift and gravity. A lift an upward force that is generated while gravity is the downward force due to gravity. Push is a forward force which propels the glider and a drag pull it backwards. The plane works only when the drag is less than thrust and lift is stronger to gravity. When the glide is descending, the severity should be higher than lift, and for it to be slowed, the drag force must be higher than thrust. When air the glide is pushed forward, the sky is split y the wings (Anderson, Graham, Williams, 2015). This makes the air below to be of low pressure; therefore, air moves slowly while the air on the top steps faster and thus causing a lift to pressure difference.
The speed and the effectiveness of the glider depend on t the angle of attack. When the angle of attack increases, the rate increases too and is likely to go far. This is, however, short-lived as it cannot be supported. The body of the glider should be streamlined as much as possible. This would reduce the impact of the drag force and make the flight more comfortable. The wood is used for the craft should be light. The ends of the drug are also rounded so that they would be able to put reduce the impact of the drag force. When the aircraft is at the level, there should be balanced. There are several types which pay include paragliders, hand gliders ad sailplane.
Therefore, for one to have a glider which flies a long-range, the body should be streamlined. The craft should also be made of a light material so that it would be adopted think twice. The tail as well will require to be optimised to avoid drag (Habbad, 2015). The other factors that entail having a long-range glider would also be determined by the attack angle and the amount of force used during the propulsion. The advantage of it is that it is easy to use. Therefore, anyone can learn to use it does not need to be the working one. There are others which are used by babies for games; others are used for war. Individuals can make its armature of the same and sell to other people, thus generating income.
