While working with your client from various sources like your counseling center or in businesses, there is much need for you to forge the strongest relationship. Building rapport with the new clients is not that easy, but here are some ways through which one can use to build a good rapport with the client.
Share values, at the end of the day, you will be hoping to gain something out of your relationship and to achieve this, it is appropriate to start by giving away things that will be of use to other people (Kohli, 2016). Try to know your clients, what is affecting their business, what they are concerned about daily. When you understand your client, then you will be able to have value for them; sharing articles or some advice relevant to your client will be enough to create a rapport with your clients.
Spend time together in person, communicating online will be enough to create that rapport needed with the client, but it is good to have time with your client. If you stay in the same city, find the time and meet your clients just to have time with them will help create a good rapport. After all the texting and catting you do online when you meet, then it helps the relationship grow faster.
Be curious; most clients talk too much, and if you let them do that, then they will exit the conversation from their positive feelings, and this will help you build a good connection with them. Listen to them and making an effort to learn more from them, lead them with curiosity and ask your clients questions that will them open up share through this you build connection and trust; through asking the question, then you will be able to find your commonalities and build a quick rapport.
Describe the types of group dynamics you may encounter and what strategies you would use to manage those situations.
There are various group dynamics that I encountered, and some include the following: the task group that includes group members that can together to achieve a common goal, members come together to achieve common arrow goals within a specific period. The organizations appoint the members and assign them the goals to achieve within a specific period.
Another form of the group dynamic is a functional group where the group is created by an organization and assigned a task or a goal to achieve within the unspecified time frame, the group still will remain even after achieving the assigned tasks (Ihm et al., 2017). They include the marketing departments and the customer services department because their services will still be needed by the organization.
Some of the strategies that would help to manage the situations of the group dynamic include paying attention to the group needs at all times, giving the group more time to help solve the issues. Problems should be solved very fast, in any case, they might exits if any issue arises, then it should have solved immediately to give room for other issues, build good communication with the group members to enhance teamwork, and to achieve the group goals within the time scheduled.
Describe possible challenges of accomplishing these effectively in a correctional setting
Lack of training to the group members makes it much difficult to accomplish the strategies delaying in achieving the group goals. Most organizations lack the experts to offer some training to its members on how to work on the strategies. Lack of teamwork among the group is a big challenge in achieving the group goals, all the group members should have a teamwork spirit to help in achieving the goals within the time set.
