Many dreams revolve around us. Some of these dreams are impossible to achieve, while others can easily be grasped. I believe that this world has tremendous diversity, and each person has a different story to tell, depending on their encounters in life. Growing as a young child, I loved being independent and doing things on my own. My dad was a great inspiration to me. He taught me how to become a hardworking person at a very tender age. He bought be toys that helped me develop cognitively. He also brought be books about some of the inspirational leaders. I learned how to think like investors, entrepreneurs, and business people. Ideally, I anticipated the wealthy being in life. Based on the fact that my parents, who known business people within the community we were living in, I developed an interest in the business. At one point, my family as at the lowest of the low, but was able to bring itself up from the complete poverty. This experience offered me an earlier foundation towards loving business.
My love for business further got rekindled when I joined university. Here, I understood that numerous things make a great individual within the field of business as well as in general life. I learned that there are skills that people need to gain throughout their lives in their quest to become successful business magnates.
These skills include leadership, determination, consistency, selflessness, as well as the ability to understand when one has made a mistake. However, my pivotal moment, which I believe changed everything and convinced me to pursue my career in business, was the experience that I had in my entrepreneurship class. In the course, my professor defined to us that entrepreneurship is the process of organizing the available factors production using the necessary resources to make a profit. Thus, an individual who does all these with the intent of making a profit is known as an entrepreneur. As part of the learning process in this class, I was able to learn some of the fundamental quality traits of being a good and successful entrepreneur.
I learned that a good entrepreneur must be a risk-taker. While I was able to learn and understand that entrepreneurship involves risk-taking and preparing oneself for any consequences, my father, who is also a business, had taught me about these concepts earlier in my childhood. In this sense, it was not a coincidence that I was learning these concepts for the second time from academic experts.
My instructor subsequently used some of the famous business people and innovators such as the Jack Ma, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs as some of the individuals who began as just entrepreneurs, but later managed to develop their business to become global companies. I am therefore determined to use some of these skills obtained in the entrepreneurship class to start and build my business. I believe that using these skills will be integral in starting, managing, and developing these businesses to become a global company.
In class, our teacher asked as to develop business ideas that we were interested in. I managed to create a unique idea that tremendously impressed my teacher. The feedbacks gave the recommendations, and possible areas for future development made me realize my capabilities and abilities to start and manage businesses in the future. I am further determined to use my integrity skills to run and expand such business in the future and manage my employees. Ideally, integrity is the foundation on which relationships are built: businesses thrive on integrity, friendships thrive on integrity. It is all a constant rollercoaster. For instance, honorable and trustworthy CEOs are more likely to have a strong, committed, and motivated workforce and the ripple effect of this is increased sales, higher profits, competitiveness, and consequently making the company stand out among its rivals in a specified craft. This can only be explained by the fact that the authority and power bestowed on leaders in organizations provide them with the means of setting the tone and ethical atmosphere of the organization.
Finally, being an entrepreneur will thus allow me to have great independence. In my view, freedom is also connected with the right of opening one’s business and gain financial independence. In my opinion, this freedom encompasses an exclusive right to engage in activities that involve the production of goods and services. The majority of the corrupted nations do not provide individuals the room to participate in the income-generating activities and become independent. It is tremendously impossible to start a business in those nations without criminal support.
On the other hand, the countries where the freedom of being independent is respected have their citizens provided with equal opportunities and security to start and maintain their businesses. In my case, therefore, freedom is associated with financial wellness, and without such right, then the liberty in such circumstances is not real. I will be able to use the experience and skills to prosper in business.
