In the capstone project, I want to analyse Equifax, a consumer credit reporting agency, has been able to deal with issues relating to data security with increasing interests in data management in public (Westin et al. 2001). Consumers have gained interest in how cooperations manage their personal information about who can and cannot access it. I have chosen to analyse Equifax since it is an organization that has been faced with various ethical issues relating to how it handles its data.

Equifax collects and aggregates information regarding consumers and businesses around the world. This organization was founded in 1899, and it has its headquarters in Atlanta Georgia. This company has over 9000 employees and works in 14 countries. The company deals in credit and demographic data and services together with credit monitoring and fraud prevention services. It directly works with its customers like all credit reporting agencies. In the year 2017, the consumer financial protection bureau reported that consumers have made over 57000 complaints regarding inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information that is held by the company (Fleishman, 2018).

My capstone project will be a strategic analysis conducted on the data management department of Equifax. This analysis will focus on how it has handled data breaches in the past. Additionally, the review will seek to find ways in which the company relates to the information that is handles checking the ethical considerations made when this data is collected. At the same time, this strategic analysis will pursue various implications of data breaches to the company's market and how the public reacts to such cases. This will give incite in the way that leadership and other factors act in the problem-solving operation of any organization. At the same time, data management is a well-defined aspect in this organization, explanation of MBA program outcomes will be made easier since it refines the way that an organization works to complete its main objectives.

I will obtain the data for my capstone project through review of secondary data from articles on the internet. This information is easily available since the company has made details about its financial and data management issues known to the public. Additionally, Equifax has allowed consumers to review their data security protocols hence the review of such data is much easier. This data is however bound to some form of human error (Westin et al. 2001). This risk does not, however, affect the general understanding of the needs of capstone project.

Various MBA outcomes such as critical and analytical thinking that provide evidence-based resolutions to business opportunities and challenges and ability to lead and collaborate in virtual, global and culturally diverse environments are well in cooperated into my project. Through an analysis of the structure of leadership in Equifax, I will make out the role of certain leadership traits in handling organization problems. With the skills obtained I would use to lead and integrate my collaborative traits in handling business problems.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, I would analyse the history and present business operations regarding data management in Equifax. I would use this knowledge to build my MBA program outcomes and integrate them in future business-related environments. Additionally, since Equifax is a large company that deals with a lot of data, understanding the operations related to the ways that it conducts its business and market handling is made easier by the fact that it makes all this information available to their consumers.
