Introduction

The computer reservation system (CRS) is one of the most widely used technological innovations in the tourism and transportation industry. The technological advancement has its basic components such as integrated reservations, that allows customers to easily make bookings and monitor the availabilities using computer devices or mobile phone, to reduce the congestion in the airline (Chen ET AL., 2009). CSR also departure control systems, which enables them to get notifications on the expected departure time. this is beneficial as it will help Attaway Airlines to avoid advertisement costs. Besides, CSR also has inventory systems and e-commerce platforms which automatically checks the number of available seats due to the presence of normalization techniques.

E-commerce can also be used as part of the CSR, to manage or control the booking activities, thus reducing the overall additional expenses by Attaway Airline. E-commerce is also associated with numerous cost savings advantages based on the idea of making it possible to purchase flying tickets via online websites and platforms, and also its flexibility of the seat-prices and potential promotions. Ideally, Attaway would benefit by accessing low-cost airlines, a fact that would reduce their operating costs, hence reduce the costs of transportation for the customers.

Tangible and Intangible Benefits of the IT Project

Based on the above discussion for CSR technology, functionality, and feasibility, the following benefits would be realized. The company will have low operating costs, customers would benefit from low-cost fares. Attaway Airlines would also realize more profits since it will be incurring less cost of expenditures. Examples of intangible benefits include: improved customer motivation and loyalty; the system would also be more reliable and reduce the instances of time-consuming; the company would also improve its brand reputation as a result of improved customer loyalty.

Roles of System Analyst in the Planning and Implementation SDLC Phases

However, if I in the position of IT director and the marketing manager were to work together in the CSR development project, then a system analyst would be required in the planning phase to identify any potential constraints that may arise in the functionality of the system. Understanding risks is important, as Attaway Airlines can put necessary measures to prevent or counteract the challenges whenever that occurs (Raj et al., 2014). During the Project implementation, system analyst would also be very busy to ensure that the system is well-integrated with all security features to promote safety and privacy of the information against theft or breaches.
