This scenario is the one that concerns an island which has been warned about an upcoming earthquake by a neighbouring prosperous nation since it has been detected using the advanced instruments and weather specialists. The islanders have opposed the ideas and in turn, have claimed that they use their animals to predict weather changes and calamities such as earthquakes. The islanders are reluctant to leave their animals and farms to go to the neighbouring country.

From my point of view, if I was an islander, I would go to the prosperous and advanced nation since the nation has developed equipment for weather forecasting. It is evident that earthquakes are very destructive, and staying at the island because of livestock and farmland will not be a solution to the foretold calamity. I can stay at the island, then the earthquake happens and kills all the livestock, which will still be a loss (Paul & Elder, 2008). I better save my life because I can be able to look for other livestock even after the earthquake has occurred. The point of view of the other islanders who have dismissed the news from the neighbouring nation is because they believe their forefathers for years have been using animals to predict the weather.

I will gather information concerning weather matters basing on the traditional forms of predicting the weather as well as the advanced technological weather prediction. I can books and documents concerning the effects of an earthquake so that I can decide whether to go the neighbouring notion or to remain on the island. As a human being life is crucial, so I need to preserve my life in all means possible and in the situation which I am capable of preserving it. I have to make sure I am safe each time, so I will research on the effects of the earthquake so that I cannot die in a situation which has already been predicted.

I need to look on both sides of the issue that is going to the neighbouring nation will mean leaving my farm and livestock which may be taken by the other islanders who will not leave the island due to ignore or reasons best known to them and staying in the island and when the earthquake occurs will result in loss of lives and property where I am not an exception.

I have an assumption that at times both the traditional and the modern forms of weather prediction may have defects. For instance, the traditional way which is the use of animals to forecast the weather may not be capable of forecasting calamities, especially those that erupt from underground. At the same time, modern technology could have a problem of ever estimation, which could result in a collection of wrong predictions. I need to research to ascertain the truth on this assumption that people hold on to them. If I will have already gone to the neighbouring nation and the earthquake does not occur, I will go back to our island.

There are specific issues, questions and problems which I need to look into before deciding on going to the neighbouring nation regardless of its prosperity. My question of concern will be why did the prosperous nation weather specialists be concerned about this isolated islanders whom over a hundred years have been living a self-sustained life relying on farming and herding. Could this issue of an earthquake be a trick to lure the islanders out of their isolation and move to the developed and prosperous nation or what would be the reason behind their warning about the upcoming earthquake? The other issue of concern before making the decision would be why did the nation that accepted to offer temporary accommodation reject the livestock of the inhabitants.

Basing on element seven which is laws, concepts and laws I have to research on the theories behind the occurrence of earthquakes and evaluate whether it is possible for a whole island regardless of its size to be swept away by the quakes as the neighbouring nations claim. I will have to research the laws of the neighbouring nation so that when I go to live there as an inhabitant, I will not have disputes with the authority as well as their culture.

Having conducted the personal analysis basing on the news given by the neighbouring country concerning the upcoming earthquake and the islanders point of view of dismissing the claims of the earthquake basing their argument on using the prediction from animals to forecast the weather I believe leaving the island and going to the neighbouring nation is the best option I would take. For me, life is so precious and if staying to the island i=and the earthquake occurs will mean loss of life and property, I would better save my life and loose property which I can look for in the latter days.
