What do you see as the values and detriment of such communication differences in the context of a romantic relationship (utilizing specific examples of these differences from the text)?

All relationships are maintained if there is adequate communication between the parties involved. Romantic relationships are not exceptional as it requires various factors to ensure that it is functioning. The prominent roles of relationships, including romantic ones, require intimacy and even social connections. These relationships vary depending on the society one comes from. Western cultures advocate for voluntary and freedom in choosing partners. The society does not discriminate and even allows for same-sex marriages. However, this is contrary to Christian beliefs, which advocate for romantic relationships between man and woman, which are limited to the couple. While other cultures, such as the African, approve of polygamy, which involves a man being in a relationship with more than one woman.

One ought to consider various factors to consider a partner, which includes self-identity, similarity, and proximity. Self-identity involves searching for appropriate partners and is influenced by multiple issues such as social class, religious preferences, and even racial or ethnic identity. There is a need for interpersonal communication in stages, including no interaction, invitational, exploration, intensifying, and revisiting stages (Caroll, 2019). Therefore, it is important to follow these stages of communication to ensure the relationship becomes strong by having a foundational basis, which is love. Communication is at the heart of every relationship, including romantic ones hence the need to strengthen it. This communication can be done by ensuring the partners are committed to each other.

How do I imagine this is enriched and or complicated further by 'Computer-mediated communication' pgs. (59-62) in modern relationships?

Technology has had an impact on all aspects of our lives, including our relationships. It has provided new media through which individuals can co-construct their social realities across traditional geographic and temporal barriers. Computer-mediated communication is synonymous with modern relationships as it makes it more convenientCITATION Car162 \l 1033 (Caroll, 2019). This is because communicating through platforms such as mobile phones and social media is quick and easy, which has both negative and positive impacts on romantic relationships.

These relationships are often intimate and thus need more than just mere communication, which includes having nonverbal cues and using other literal styles such as mood and tone. Sometimes communicating using computer-mediated gadgets can be misconstrued. Although the use of smileys and emoticons has mitigated this, it can not be sufficient, thus negatively affecting communication. Therefore, it is essential to balance traditional communication and computer-mediated communication to ensure that they are strong.

As highlighted in the video, respond to White’s claims. Does he get Christian, right? Why or why not? Include specific biblical material from the video lectures, more readings, and your study.

White gives an analogy of the creation by explaining how trees are important in our society. He explains how trees have life just like us human beings. In the Bible, Genesis, as the first book, talks about how God created the world. After creating man, he also created plants and gave Adam and Eve authority over them and animals. Trees also have many benefits as they help circulate oxygen, which keeps us alive. We all have a responsibility to take care of them as they are integral when it comes to survival (White, 2010). Trees are also considered sacred, thus the need for conservation; it is written that the cursed is the one who is hung on a tree in Galatians 3:13. Christian trees are more than just physical objects, as they have a great symbol of religion.

Trees have been considered sacred from time immemorial, as seen in the Ethiopian churches situated in the forest. These churches have a long history that dates back to 2000 years. It is located deep in the vegetation as it is peaceful and spiritual. Trees are sacred because they are habitats for various animals and are also sources of food such as fruits. The Garden of Eden was a haven given by God to man. Noah also used trees to construct the ark (Carolls, 2016). It is, therefore, important to ensure that there is a conversation between these trees.
