The difference between a singer and a performer is the career objective. On singing, the audience focuses on the voice and not the individual singing. One can listen to a song without the act of performing. A performer brings art to stage with the imitation of the song vocals. A singer depends on human voice while a performer depends on the art movement of the body parts rhyming with the song information.
Josephine Baker was a performer from French she could use art to share information with her audience. Performing involved technique to attract the audience as compared to singing. If she could not use this means to draw the audience would walk out of the performance. Etha Kitt was an American singer who could share all forms of vision by human voice rather than art. Singers sing their songs while a performer can perform someone's song on stage. Billie Holiday was both performer and a singer. Performance involves commanding the stage with art while singing is all about the production of lyrics and vocals. Singing includes the different display of inspiration from sin to help inspire the audience while performance is about making the audience jovial.
Performance includes delivering to the audience without the show of emotional truth while singer makes the audience feel the emotions of the song. Performers show up all types of art on stage like extension cords, but singers use tones to perform. Singer 's moods and emotions differ to performers because they want the audience to understand the song within the shortest time possible but in implementing it takes much more time. The performance uses the act of making the audience happy, but the singer's mood is to the song moreover he or she is dangerous. Performers involve interaction with the audience and eloquent performing while singers mix their songs by writing as compared to performing that involves much time and practice.
Performers only choose the song they can perform best, and they have best practiced on as a singer only takes the song he or she has worked. Performers can want to play on the song they have sung or pick any song as to a singer he or she has to sing his art. Performers usually do not consider the demands of the audience because they only choose what to perform. Singers consider the emotions and moods of the audience before composing a song. Most singers spell out their previous past and experience thus the attraction of the audience emotions. Performers' expect the audience to sing along with them, but singers prefer to perform themselves.
Conclusion
Singers use song materials before producing a song while performers use the created lyrics of a song to perform on stage. Josephine Baker was a performer who mostly involved dancing as the act to drive the audience mad while Etha Kitt could compose her art song through writing. Billie Holiday was a singer who only used her voice as the only instrument to deliver information to the audience. From Ellie Holiday we can conclude voice to be the main instrument when performing the art. Performing involves more use of stage instruments to show the technique. Erykah Badu is a singer who used vocals in her production of songs. She did not consider the use of devices to produce songs as Josephine Baker used to. Singers consider more on the feelings and emotions of the audience on what they have gone through as to performing that only thinks the audience on stage and not those out of presence.
