The civil war in the United States of America resulted in numerous positive implications fifty years later that have improved the living standards of the people through access to better services. The latter war has contributed to the improvement of various sectors within the government and improved confidence in the United States of America's citizens, as discussed in the subtopic below.
Sufficient Hospitals and Ambulances
The civil war in the USA occurred on a transition between two phases in the medical sector. They are the end of the traditional medieval period and the dawn of modern technology in the sector. It resulted in profound and rapid changes in terms of modernization and improvement of medical facilities with professional with adequate anatomy and other biological know-how (Towner Para. 2). The establishment of more hospitals to treat the war victims is a significant feature that shows a positive contribution of the war to the American people. Modern medical facilities like well-equipped hospital wards emerged with modern doctor-associated services. Nurses also conducted regular routine checks with the emergence of other services, such as the American Red Cross Society (George and Henry 34). The first ambulances in the United States of America were manufactured during this session for rescue purposes in the war fronts. They were used for ferrying the victims of the civil war were improved to enable them to traverse into remote places as a way of salvaging the situations. All these improvements in the medical sector are currently beneficial to the current populations living in the United States fifty years after the civil wars in the nation.
Prizing America as a Land of Opportunities
Unlike in the earlier year, the United States of America made developmental trajectory steps after the civil wars. The latter wars paved the way for establishments of various facilities that have greatly improved the economic status of the nation. Some of the critical developments that erupted after the civil wars were changes in the political landscape, economic aspects, and social parameters. The establishment of the transcontinental railways, which is a crucial driver of economic prosperity in the region, has contributed immensely to the economic growth of the country (George and Henry 34). This facility was set up at the dusk of the civil wars to link California to other parts of the world and ease the movement of goods and services for trade and passengers. The facility has made the trading activities for the citizens and foreigners easier hence beneficial to the nation.
The constitutional enactments after the civil wars such as homesteading in the west s another beneficial feature of the war as the majority of the people were granted 160 acres of government land to live in and make use of it. It is a positive attribute of the civil war to the current society because such lands enabled settling of various people like the union soldiers and other United States of America's citizens (Wells-Barnett and Ida 14). They were utilized in the development of the land grants that later resulted in the development of mechanical and agricultural arts that are useful in farming and agricultural production in the current society. Some of the states where these arts are explicitly evident are Texas, Virginia, and Michigan states (Wells-Barnett and Ida 17). It has enhanced the production of surplus food and other farm products hence facilitating trading activities.
Summer Tributes for the Slain Soldiers
All the civil war victims are remembered in the beginning of all the summer times in the United States of America by displaying their portraits and flags. It is a sign of unity since the practice involves all the Americans regardless of the skin color or the state they are living in (George and Henry 37). It brings all the citizens together to celebrate the contributions brought to the country by all the fallen soldiers hence creating a sense of togetherness among all the nation's citizens (Towner Para. 7). Therefore the civil war has resulted in a growing urge of togetherness is an essential aspect of a country to enable it to grow. These decoration days are essential for the country and the citizens in reflecting on the wars days and the ways of evading such an occurrence from happening again. It also helps the country to heal from the experiences faced during the civil war period.
Application of Technology in Communication Sector
The civil war in the United States of America has seen the country use modern technology in monitoring the communication patterns and signals in the country. Abraham Lincoln is a former US President pushed for the adoption of technology during the civil war periods because of its advantages in monitoring the hotbed and other affected areas (Wells-Barnett and Ida 19). "Not only did Lincoln's wartime dependence on the telegraph eventually lead to a wave of investment in new communication devices, from the telephone to the Internet, but it also signaled the evolution of a language that morphs as quickly as the devices that instantaneously tweet our words around the globe" (Towner Para. 6). From such a statement from Abraham Lincoln, it is clear that the civil war has improved the countries technological standards.
