Civil society is a social sphere that involves the public yet excludes the government and government activities (Dhanani 125). It is community cooperation, voluntary associations and public involvement and communication between the state and the household in a social manner. Civil society organizations are institutions that are tasked with advancing agendas through demands and actions on the state. Its involvement encompasses academic and religious institutions, issue-focused entities, and non-profit and non-government organizations (Hassard 231). Economic organizations, on the other hand, describe organizations that are formed to aid countries on economic and social issues through international cooperation. Both these organizations have power and influence in the running of global issues (Dhanani 94). This paper is aimed at comparing and contrasting the power and influence that civil society organizations and economic corporations wield.

Both these organizations work with the government but are not part of the government. They are involved in support of various issues that are to do with social and environmental impacts. Indeed, the two organizations are important especially in developing nations as they help the government have enough resources to meet the citizenry's needs and achievement of these goals in a way that does not undermine the social position and environmental factor of a state respectively (Hassard 189).

Due to globalization, traditional governance has been weakened. It is easy to cause a major uproar that will have a huge impact on the running of a nation. Increased global interaction in the economic and social sense has granted other economic, social and political players to the global stage (Hassard 131). The Non-governmental organizations, civil society, and the economic organizations became huge players and factors in the global leadership and governance. As such, these organizations wield immense power and influence and handling them will determine how a state fairs not just as an independent nation, but also on the global field (Dhanani 166).

Both these organizations are aimed at ensuring that nations are capable of providing the citizenry with the best infrastructure, social systems, peaceful atmosphere, and health among a host of social issues that plague nations (Hassard 155). The two entities are more common in developing nations that have a low gross domestic product (GDP) and need aid from international financial institutions (Dhanani 204). The civil society is also tasked with ensuring that this aid that usually comes in the form of grants and loans is taken for purposes that make sense to the country and the citizenry. They act as the citizen's watchdog and advocate where there is poor management of funds. Indeed, some of the international economic organizations listen to the civil society organizations before offering any assistance. It shows how much power they yield (Hassard 159).

Conclusion

In conclusion, the civil society organizations are important as they ensure the proper governance. The economic organizations, on the other hand, assist in ensuring that the governance is facilitated by offering financial aid towards these efforts. They are similar in that they exist to ensure that the common man is well taken care of. The civil society organizations do this by agitating for particular demands from the government whereas the economic organizations pour in financial aid to help in effecting these demands. Without the existence of these organizations, a nation would have a hard time in financing some of its operations. At the same time, the citizenry and the environment would face it rough as they would not have a body through which agitation of critical issues could be handled.
