The book main argument is about leadership and whether leadership is inborn, developed or made. He explores the lives of the successful American president and how their experiences in administration came at a time when they had a lot of confusions. While delivering his argument Goodwin draws from the four presidents who he studies extensively to exhibit how they showed leadership qualities and their levels of recognition by the society. He makes use of time when their paths were barricaded with fear, confusion and hope to prove the existence of leadership qualities in them. The novel depicts the argument when Goodwin turns down the urge of gleaning rules and lessons from the past allowing herself to experience the singularity exhibited by each personality.

Heartland by Sarah Smarsh

My third book is heartland by Sarah Smarsh. The hardcover had 304 pages and was first published in 2018. The book is a memoir of a young woman who works hard and is still poor in the wealthiest country in the world. The book covers a time in history between the 1980s and 1990s. Sarah explains her life and wants us to think and reflect on the social class divide and the myths surrounding people earnings and how society perceives them. She uses her own experiences to bring out this argument to speak up to children born into poverty. She makes use of her journey from childhood to adulthood in Kansas to motivate girls born into poor household within the society. Towards the end of her debut memoir, Sarah states that "Class is an illusion with consequences," with the aim of emphasizing that all girls within the society can make it not only those of high class.
