Introduction
Mental health disorders are part of the deviant behavior that influences people to engage in activities that are against social behaviors. The Bondage Breakers Foundation seeks to help people with mental health programs recover from their mental disorders and live a healthy lifestyle. The victims of mental health disorders have various symptoms that expose them to risks, including contemplating suicide (Jacob et al., 2017). The program will identify the people with mental disorders and implement measures that help them overcome suicidal thoughts, including organizing therapies and counseling the help the victims heal from the mental disorder. The program will target the vulnerable people in the communities that require the services of the program urgently.
The other deviant behavior that the Bondage Breakers Foundation seeks to counter in mental health disorders includes the abusive behavior that is associated with people living with mental disorders. Children and partners are the most affected when the patients living with mental disorders become violent to them. The program will help reduce violence in societies by reducing the number of people with mental illness disease in the community. The number of people with mental health disorders has been increasing over the years because the majority of people are unable to afford medical health services to heal (Jacob et al., 2017). The program will identify the factors that cause mental health disorders will be key to ensuring that factors that cause mental disorders are eliminated. The main target group of the program is the middle-aged people with no stable source of income that get the mental illness from the challenges they experience. Suicide thoughts and violence are the main behaviors that the program seeks to cure.
Goals
One of the goals of “Bondage Breakers Foundation” is to help individuals with mental disorders to find peace from within. Finding peace within oneself means that you accept yourself (Pombo, 2019). Therefore, the first step towards achieving this goal will help be encouraging individuals to pay no attention to unnecessary things and shy away from negative thoughts. During the first sessions of the program, individuals will be sensitized on focusing only on the things under their control and stop worrying about things they cannot change. The participants will be encouraged to focus on doing the next thing the right way. Participants will engage in tension-releasing activities such as meditation, swimming, nature walks, and music, and yoga.
The second goal of the program is to help the individuals break what hinders their inner peace by harming their inner selves. The first step of achieving this is to acknowledge what you are feeling and doing right. Emotional awareness will help in handling the disorders by responding to the symptoms rather than controlling the mental disorder. The mediation will be used in this step to help address the negative, unhealthy feelings.
The third objective of the program is to provide a comprehensive medical evaluation to address underlying issues. Mental health disorders are caused by multiple gene interactions, traumatic events, abuse, or stress. Before deciding how to manage the disorder, it will be essential to evaluate the symptoms and establish the real cause of the problem. The interventions for a mental disorder caused by multiple gene interactions will be different from those implemented for a disorder caused by psychological factors such as sexual abuse.
The fourth goal is to support individuals to embrace and maintain a healthier future. Breaking free of what harms one's inner self is not enough as the program's success depends on the plans aimed at helping the individual stay healthy. The program will support the individuals throughout the journey and regularly check them to ensure that they are not going astray.
The last goal is to ensure the environment is conducive to the free sharing of feelings and thoughts. The interpersonal relationship between the individuals and the program managers and the physical environment will help in a quick change of the behavior. Individuals will be encouraged to share their thoughts and feelings amongst themselves as well as with professions. The program facilitators will help them without judging or being judgmental.
Estimated Annual Cost of Program
The estimated cost of the program is approximately 80,000. This includes startup costs such as furniture, incorporation fee, and computer systems. The estimate also covers recurrent costs such as salaries, rent, insurance, and utilities. Some of the funds will be used in marketing initiatives to help sell the program to potential patients. The program will generate revenue through psychology services, peer support, counseling, and mental health help. The charges will help cater to the program's expenses and have some profit.
Duration of Enrolment in the Program
The participants of the program are expected to participate in the program for one month in which they will have enough time to interact with medical health specialists and get the required medication to heal from the disease. The one month period will enable the patients to have fully healed from the mental health disease. The program will focus on making the patients be mentally strong enough to ensure they do not fall back to mental illness once they have recovered.
Community Partnerships
For the program to be implemented successfully, Bondage Breakers Foundation will have to partner with community groups that will play different roles in facilitating the patients to get the medication that they deserve. Among the groups that the foundation will partner with includes local churches that will offer accommodations and other support services to the patients as they get attended to. The church will also offer mental support, including encouragement to the patients. Fitness organizations will also help in ensuring that the patients remain engaged and avoid falling back to mental disorders. The partnerships will facilitate the running of the program by ensuring that the patients get the support that they require.
Community partnerships, including medical facilities, will play a part in helping mental health disorder patients by offering rehabilitation programs that train the people on how to live without mental illness (Jacob et al., 2017). The patient's healing is influenced by the community and the people that the patient lives with; therefore, the partnership will help Bondage Breakers Foundation understand how different communities operate and the follow up to check the progress of the patients. Mental Health Disorders are a major challenge in the community, and hence the bondage foundation is committed to helping the affected patients facing challenges accessing health services.
Recidivism
The program will reduce recidivism by supporting the patients throughout the journey and encouraging them to share their thoughts and feelings. Even after completing the program, the patients will be enrolled in art programs to keep them engaged. The program will also reduce mental health disorder disparities by establishing partnerships between different stakeholders that will help patients who experience challenges in accessing medication.
