Introduction
The purpose of an organization is to be the best of all as well as earn maximum profit. However, the success of any organization lies on the hands of the stakeholders in the organization that is the manager as well as the employees. The workers in the organization have a big say towards the success of the organization. In connection to this, the manager is also of significant impact.
We can't mention the success of an organization and fail to say about the mindset of both the employees and the manager. Mindset involves an individual attitude towards a particular task. If the employees don't have a mentality towards the success of the organization, no matter how big the organization may be, it will fail.
The topic of study is aimed at figuring out the impact of mindset in any organization. A positive mindset will lead to the success of the organization, while a negative mindset will contribute to loss and failure of the organization. The research is, therefore, to help the organization owners to understand the reasons for success or failure of their organization.
The research is, on the other hand, to help to determine who responsible for imparting a positive mindset to the employees is. In a situation where workers don't understand the goals of the organization, they are not likely to have a positive mindset, as they will not be having direction on where to go.
On the other hand, if the employees are not correctly handled, they will automatically develop a negative mindset towards the organization. It is therefore clear that the manager of the organization has a great responsibility to play. Ina school situation, it is the role of teachers to impart a positive attitude to the learners. "Teachers play an important role in shaping a student's confidence as well as how they see things on school through productive, continuous output." (Dweck, 2014).
Some of the questions in this research are, what is a mindset? Is the mentality of all the people the same? Does the mindset of an individual impact an organization? What can be done to change the mindset of an individual? Who is responsible for ensuring that employees in an organization have a positive attitude? Which guidelines should be put in place to provide a positive attitude towards work in an organization? May the employment influence the position on the job? How does the form in which an employee is paid control their approach to work?
Review of Literature
The topic of research is comprehensive and vital as far as fulfilment of organizations as goals are concerned. The term mindset entails all about an individual's attitude; that is how he feels and takes an organization. The individual's position on the organization has excellent on the impact of an organization. It will determine whether the workers are motivated towards the achievement of the organizational goals. "Growth attitude doesn't come only as a result of the business output; managers can use them to companion and reinforce those objectives." (Gurdjian et al. 2014). Managers should, therefore, be motivated to promote companionship among the employees. "By having clarity on growth attitude stated you would be aware of the overall development protocols." (Gurdjian et al. 2014) Interpersonal skills, motivation, cultural differences of different workers as well as the manager's motivation are essential points of view in this research.
Firstly, inter-personal skills entail the ability to communicate as well as interact with everyone effectively. Interpersonal skills are essential both among employees and also between the employees and the managers.
An organization with skilled managers is likely to be having a low turnover of quality employees, recruitment of highly skilled labourers who know their goals as well as high profit. It is the responsibility of managers to make decisions in the organization, control resources as well as leading others in achievements of goals, and set objectives.
The manager needs two vital skills, which are technical, conceptual skills and human skills. Technical skills involve the ability of an individual to put the professional skills learned. Conceptual skills are the ability to solve complex issues.
Furthermore, human skills involve the ability to relate and interact with one's colleagues effectively. This is promoted by the help of communication between the manager and workers. Promotion of teamwork and companionship will help in ensuring that there are interpersonal skills in any organization.
Secondly, motivation is vital for any organization. Motivation involves intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation is a motivation; a worker is likely to have that is from within him or her. In simple terms, the employees have internal motivation essential in the fulfilment of the organizational goals.
On the other hand, the extrinsic motivation which an employee haves as a result of external factors. In this type of motivation, management has a role to play. "Manager can promote motivation by increasing motivation, by gaining greater organizational commitment, experience greater worker productivity as well as observing a higher level of job fulfilment." (Rommel, 2009)
To improve the motivation in employees, the management can firstly recognize as well as appreciate individual differences. It is essential for the control will understand that there is a big difference between individuals on ability, emotions skills as well as attitude. This will help the management on how they will handle the labourers since they will treat them by their differences.
The management can as well use goals and feedback to motivate the workers. The objectives of the organization should be clearly stated, to both the administration and also the employees. This will ensure unity in the organization whereby all the stakeholders will be focused on the accomplishment of the goals.
The management can also involve employees in deciding on the company. Employees involvement in decision making will give them a platform where they will share their decisions. Moreover, they will get an opportunity to present their contributions as well as giving their ideas on how best to accomplish the set goals. Involving workers in decision making makes them own the organization and also feel valued as part of the organization.
Thirdly, the management can apply reward on a well-done job. Best performing employees should be identified and also be awarded for maintaining excellent performance. Awarding employees will make them develop a positive attitude towards the job they are doing. More so, they will work hard and raise strategies to come up with new ways of solving problems in the organization. On the other hand, the spirit of companionship will be ensured and be maintained.
Furthermore, the management has a responsibility to review the reward system to promote fairness among the workers. This is very crucial as it will ensure that there is no favouritism among the workers. Justice will be provided to all employees; hence, companionship will be guaranteed.
On the other hand, the employee's social behaviour is vital in the promotion of a positive attitude. Managers should understand who as well as what holds status when associating with people having a different way of life." (Rommel, 2009). By so doing, the management will be able to understand their worker's social behaviours and therefore treat them well by their culture. Workers attitude will be ensured if their learning will be appreciated.
Methodology
Several methodologies were used in the collection of data. These methods included interviews, use of questionnaires and surveys as well as observation. However, each of these methods had its advantages as well as its shortcomings. Some needed involved of the workers while others you didn't have to involve them.
The interview was done on a sample of employees and management. "Interviews play an important role in overcoming the shortfalls of the data collected previously." (Qaurav, 2017). Use of interview helped to get the data that was not collected. More so, it was hard to get the correct interpretation of the questions that might be existing.
On the other hand, the use of the method was disadvantageous since the technique needed a lot of time. Hence, there was a lot of time wastage. The whole process was also costly. There was, therefore, a need to apply other methods of data collection and not to rely only on the use of the interview.
Questionnaires and survey were also used in the collection of information. This is one of the most used methods of data collection. It involved collection information using samples. Samples were collected using the phone, online group, mail collection, as well as paper collection.
Use of questionnaires was vital since it allowed precisely formulate the information collection. Moreover, they were collected at the time, which was convenient. More so, the method was accessible to all. On the other hand, due to the lack of human being, the process was passive. By this, all the needed information was not collected.
The observation was also one of the data collection method used. The technique helped in the collection of real information. This is because the researcher was able to see how the employees and the management relationship were. The method was simple since their searcher only needed to observe. However, this method was complicated since the interpretation of the information was involved. Unfortunately, the lack of one in one interaction with the sampled employees leads to the omission of some relevant information.
Document database was us. Some of the papers were removed from the sample. This is because some examples lacked clarity; in simple terms, they were not understood. Moreover, some employees did not give an actual specimen and hence needed to eliminate some samples. Furthermore, some, most papers had irrelevant information, and therefore, the need to remo...
