Both big and small cities have their advantages depending on where they are located and what kind of lifestyles they lead. This means that a person can choose to live in a large or small city and lose some of the benefits while still gaining others. A small city is known for its low population and simple lifestyle. Big cities, on the other hand, are filled with commotions. There are both big and small cities all over the world. Fischer explains that people who choose big cities are attracted to the amenities they have (179). This paper will compare and contrast large cities with small cities.

There are many similarities between small and large cities. Both have utilities like electricity, roads that are good, and water. These amenities allow people to have similar experiences, regardless of where they live. These amenities are also the key difference between small and large cities. Fischer also noted that small and large cities share a common feature: both have streets which residents use to find their homes (80). It doesn't matter how big or small the city, it has a population that allows residents to live a normal existence.

A major difference between large and small cities is the fact that they both have a high concentration of facilities like schools and hospitals. The city has many options for education and treatment. Both large and small cities offer recreational facilities such as parks and entertainment, as well art centers like museums. The public transport system is another common feature in large and small cities.

The cost of living is one of the major differences between large and small cities (Fischer 233). Large cities have higher prices for most commodities, from food staff to houses, than small ones. A house that is purchased in a large city and furnished with the necessary amenities can be more costly than one that is located in a smaller city. Big cities offer more choices when it comes to modern needs of life. Because big cities have more convenience stores, electronic shops, supermarkets, and other amenities than small ones, this is why.

The difference in the buildings between big and small cities is more obvious. The most striking buildings in big cities are those that aren't found in smaller towns. These huge buildings are usually built to house large populations. The public transport system is another area that can be clearly seen. The transport system is usually more efficient in big cities than it is in small ones. But, big city residents often have to endure heavy traffic. Fischer also mentioned that there is a difference between small and large cities.

You can see the differences between big and small cities in terms of their natural beauty and warmth. It is possible to have nature and good relationships in small cities. This is not possible in big cities where technology, story-building, and other industries have impacted on nature. People in small cities are more friendly than big cities and will smile at strangers. Because people in large cities are usually consumed by work, this is why small-city residents can be friendly. Fischer claims that cooperation is difficult between large cities due to the large population (235). The difference between small and large cities is also shown by the quality of tranquility (Fischer 236). Young people believe that big cities are fun and exciting, while smaller cities can be boring. Older people believe that big cities can be noisy and irritating, but small cities are peaceful and tranquil.

The difference in crime rates between large and small cities is another. The crime rate in big cities is usually higher than that of small ones (Fischer 236). Many young people migrate to large cities to find work but then become bored. Young immigrants don't prefer small towns. Small cities are therefore not popular choices for their destination. Large cities offer many options for dining and are multi-cultural. People living in big cities may be able to enjoy different cuisines from many cultures. Smaller cities might have fewer restaurants that offer limited food options.

Small cities are known for offering fresh produce at lower prices than large cities. However, prices for other commodities are usually higher in small cities because there are no megastores offering significant discounts. Fischer argues that big cities are driven primarily by order and small cities have a greater sense of belonging (238). In big cities traffic rules are enforced, but small-city residents don't care as much and may even be resentful of the rules being enforced.

There are also environmental differences between big and small cities. A big city's environment is more polluted than one in a smaller city. The large number of industries and the huge amount of waste generated by residents in big cities contribute to this pollution. A small city has a quieter environment than a large one, which allows residents to feel calm and relaxed. A small city has the advantage of being more free than a large one. This means that they can afford to have enough rest. People in large cities have greater access to specialist services, such as the ability to receive treatment from top doctors and surgeons.

You can view the similarities and differences between large and small cities as points on a continuum. These similarities and differences are constantly changing, making it hard to define a boundary between them. While big cities have elements that are similar to small cities, small cities can also possess some of the same features as large cities. Modern structures and urban lifestyles are a hallmark of cities, big or small. These urban features are often more prominent in large cities.
